1. Did you follow Advanced theory and methodology - master"s thesis preparation course? If yes, how did it help you to prepare your master"s thesis OR how could it have helped you more?

- I already knew what my thesis will be about, so it was good in the sense that I began writing about it, but it was a waste of time in my case when we were instructed to present several thesis topics we"d like to pursue. I think it would have been nice to divide students in two groups: one for students that don"t know what to do for their thesis, and one for those who already have a topic. Moreover, I think I would have liked to have assignments that could be linked to the thesis report and getting constructive criticism on the structure and content of it. » (yes)

- The information was good but too late. The start meeting was way too late!» (good)
- At times the information came quite late, and especially I think Saddek"s e-mail about procedures and deadlines could have been more clear to read. There was a lot of important information provided, and sometimes the order was not in chronological order, which made it difficult to read and find the information we"re looking for. It could be better to have it presented in a timeline or so.. » (bad)

- I had two juries that were experts on my subject, so their comments were very valid. » (very good)

Exhibition, public presentation and the role of the censors

16. What is your opinion about the organization of the exhibition?

- Good information. Tabita is doing a great job! The exhibition could be more professional if there was some kind of covering carpet on the floor. The MPDSD students should also hang their posters on grey/black screens. The wooden ones are very messy and the exhibioton suffers» (good)
- Including myself, I wish more effort was put in the organisation of the exhibition. » (bad)

- I think one presentation final is enough and the public presentation should be focused on the exhibition not the power point presentation and possibly inviting companies to come.» (bad)

- Preparation courses»
- All, with the suggestions of possible improvements mentioned in this survey. »
- Set the dates in time! That is the least the school should do for the master thesis students. Saves a lot of stress knowing the dates. Shouldnt be that hard?»

21. What should be changed in the future?

- some how the most important information is always hard to find»
- More focus on the exhibition. Perhaps, this can be achieved by not having the students present their thesis with slides, but by them talking in front of their posters and physical models. Having more check-ups in-between (more formal midterms) like the matter space studio would be nice. The MPDSD thesis room was always very cold, which made it an uncomfortable environment to stay and work in. »
- More professional look on the exhibition. Set the dates in TIME!»
