Preparation to start thesis work

- I thought it helped me think about what architecture means for me and what I´,m interested in. A good course for reflection and exploring new subjects in architecture, I really liked it. » (yes)

- Help me a way of optimize my working-load during the heavy work time.» (yes)
- It helped in some parts, but made me confused at the same time. The time pressure with all exercises was to high, it didn"t help me find my subject instead I got really stressed about it. With less pressure I would find it meaningful and helpful as a preparation. I don"t see the point with hand-ins every single day, it would be better with one max two deliveries every week. The teacher Maya was supportive during the course and it was well organized. » (yes)

- We had censors from abroad that made the mid-term seminar very good. It became higher quality on the discussion and subject. » (very good)

- It was good to have censors from abroad and from other schools. I thought the comments were interesting, relevant and good. I missed a discussion in the end about the general level of the students in the school and their general thoughts about the level etc.» (very good)

- I had Carl-Johan Westerlund and Joaquim Terasso in the Urban Architecture and Design Laboratory course. It has been the best experience to have their support and tutoring during the spring. Their methods of work and way of tutoring has helped me with the process so much. Their engagement in all our work has been amazing. » (very good)

- I had Ana Betancour as examiner and she has been really engaged in all of our projects. The tutoring has been great, both personally and through Skype/emails. She has been so supportive and helpful during the spring to all of us in the studio. The level on the discussion about the topics has been extremely high and I wish all studios could have such an amazing teachers as her. » (very good)

- Its good that they come from different schools in Europe with different backgrounds. Maybe its possible to match students with censors that have some topics in common, so the censor is relevant for the work. » (very good)
- Some questions are not quite related to my subject, which made me a little bit uneasy to answer.» (good)

Possible improvements

19. What should be preserved for the future?

- Exhibition is so nice!»
- The exhibition is important and good. More censors from other countries also during mid critics. I hope the Urban studio is preserved and the methods they use to teach. A good work space is also really important and the discussion with other students. »

20. What should be changed in the future?

- Maybe clearer information what a master thesis requires in different studios, because the results and work method is quite different depending on which you choose. Also let the censors summarize in the end their opinions and thoughts about the work, I really missed that. The end discussion needs to be better organized with more time to let them talk. And also divide the discussion based on studios, because the opinions were really different based on which studio and examiner the student had during the thesis. »

21. What is your overall opinion of the master thesis work process?

- Very satisfied »
- Its been really good, still a lot of hard work and struggle. The teachers are really important during the process and also the preparation before. »
