Learning outcomes and examinationAfter completion of this course, the student should be able to: - describe and explain the complexity of the concept of sustainable development including the environmental, social and economical aspects of the concept. - relate the concept of SD to the earths most vital physical assets as air, water and value of nature. - relate the concept of SD to energy and technology, and explain how the transformation of natural resources has produced global climate change, but also describe possible alternative energy systems. - motivate the use of policy and negotiation instruments in the strives towards sustainable development. - apply the knowledge of SD in relation to urban planning, urban development and urban futures. - apply the knowledge of SD in relation to the aspects of the urban futures complex reality. 1. The assignments are still not handled back and the first ones should been given back in early this semester before the due of the second assignment. A meeting was cancelled when the students showed up. There was no one checking the presence of the students even though it was said the meetings were compulsory. » (Rather badly)

- Kursen var intressant och har potential till att vara riktigt bra. Men total avsaknad av feedback under hela perioden på 16 v gör att kursens betyg dras ner rejält tyvärr. Poänglöst att ha en "mål & framsteg"-sida då den hela tiden står på 0 %. Skulle vara bra att veta om man öht har gjort något rätt eller fel på uppgifterna. »
- It is hard doing a group assignment together with students doing this course on distance. The group assignment should be changed to another form of examination. The students must show that they have done everything in the course, like seeing the web lectures otherwise a lot of students just look at one for each assignment. The students coming to the compulsory meetings must be benefited. »
