- One of the lectures (33% of the course) collided with a compulsory lecture of another course.» (50%)
- This course unfortunately collided with another course for me. The result was that I missed about 45-50% of the teaching in this course. Not very optimal, but the alternative would be to miss the only weekly lecture I had in the other course.» (50%)

- Did not buy/read/use the recommended book. The lecture notes are a bit messy, they are often hard to follow and there"s a lot of minor issues that would be fixed by some proof reading.» (Some extent)

- Many lecture slides and assignments did take time before being put up on the website.» (Very badly)
- some of the homework assignments were handed out or later than necessary.» (Rather well)
- The course page works but is a bit messy, navigation and the uniformity could be improved (i.e. not all pages have the same layout), it does not work very well on a phone, etc. Mostly cosmetic issues.» (Rather well)
- The handins could be corrected faster» (Rather well)
- The grading of the hand-in assignments was too slow. It took weeks before some of them were corrected. It would have been nice to have received the hand-in assignments earlier, but I guess the late handouts was a crafty decision made by Erland.» (Rather well)

- It was easy to ask Erland at the lecture, but asking the course assistans was a lot harder since they didn"t seem to be in their offices very often.» (Rather good)

- The assignments»
- The lectures are well structured and having the lecture slides handed out helps following them.»
- A good teacher and a really interesting subject. »

16. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- An obligatory assignment and slight reduced demand on the exam might be good, as some aspects of algorith construction is very hard to do during an exam with time pressure.»
- Faster marking of the assignments. I did not get any comments for the last assignment before the exam. The comments are useful in case you have misunderstood something and could be critical on the exam.»
- The assignments should be available sooner. With only 2 weeks between each, a 4 day delay between the previous handin and the next is pretty signinficant.»
- I think that the assignments should"ve been a bit easier, but that they should be partly obligatory instead (maybe 20 % of them must be completed to finish the course or something). The reason I think this is that it would in a way "force" you to work more with them, rather than if they are optional and you CAN manage the course without doing it. They are too important to just skip because you CAN finish the course without them.»

- This course has gotten me really interested in algorithms, and since I"ve just finished my second year I think I"ll choose the CSALL master program next year.»
