Goals and goal fulfilmentThe course syllabus states the course goals in terms of learning outcomes, i.e., knowledge, skills and attitudes to be acquired by the student during the course. More specifically the course goals were expressed as:
To provide knowledge of, and training in, methods and skills used in research and investigations.
To enable students to choose between alternative techniques to collect and process data and to evaluate the trustworthiness of research data and analyses.
To improve the students" ability to present research results.
At the end of the course the student should be able to prepare a brief for a research project and to evaluate and decide on methods for a master"s thesis.

- The classes, and workshop by Anders Ingelgård were way to slow. He had prepared 207 slides, didn"t use any of them, and spent four hours talking about stuff that could have been said in one hour. This resulted in a decrease of class participants in every break, so in the end we were awkwardly few left.» (Some extent)
- This was also a good excercise but I think that the presentation could have been performed in another way since we all had made the same assignment.» (Some extent)

- The length of the lectures, it is to long with four hours! When the lectures are so long it is also quite hard to get what is the most important from each lecture since they contain that much discussions. I would like to have more lectures with Erik and Vanaya. It should not be mandatory to participate on all the presentations, especially not when every group have done the same project. You could have given the different groups different questions to make it more interesting and not smart phones to everybody or split the class into two half-class groups when presenting because you stop listening when it it that many presentations! »
- Lectures seems boring in relation to workshops, so more workshops or games.»
- The lecture rooms. The rooms at Electro are not preferable, in terms of layout and limited power outages»
- The "what is learning excercise" felt a bit unclear.»
- Friday classes, and some more actions to make students participate in classes. Slow classes like the ones from Anders are very uninspiring to show up more often. »
- I think that sometimes the 4-hours lectures are not nessecary and could have been shortened to 2 hours with almost the same content. Maybe this would increase the attendence.»

25. Additional comments- I learned a lot in this course but mostly from reading the literature. I did not attend many lectures and can"t speak for the quality of them but perhaps having mandatory excercises connected to each lecture would have motivated me.»

- It is a litlle contradicious to have the opposition after the final report been handed in because then you can"t use the feedback you got from the opposition. When performing the first task with different data collection methods, maybe the questionnaire could have been excluded from this since everybody should do a questionnaire in the next task with smartphones which made it feel a little unnecessary to already have listened to a presentation about questionnaire »
- Don"t get me wrong, Anders is a great guy, but I was one of the few that staid for his whole lectures, and they were just too unstructured and slow.»
- Good subject but there should be more incentives to attend the class. I have a hard time to suggest what is going to be changed though but there should be considerations on what. »
