- I didn"t feel I had time to attend the final lectures. Instead I had to learn that part of the course during 2.5 intense days. I didn"t attend any problem solving sessions since I have a hard time following such without being familiar with the problems first. The problem solving notes were excellent though.» (50%)

- Honestly, they were pretty boring. Maybe the reason was that everything as on overhead, we are used to take notes as the teacher at the problem solving sessions writes on the blackboard.
Bearing in mind that the calculations are often very extensive, and most of the students in a masters class know how to do calculus, I think these sessions should focus on what method to use to solve certain problems, why this method is the best and why other method will not work. For example why modal analysis work, but not lagrange and so on.» (Rather bad)
- Personally, I can"t follow problem solving sessions that well without already being familiar with the problem. For me, it is ideal to just get the notes and work on my own with their help.» (No opinion)

- To some extent yes, but with the phenomenal lecture notes all problem solving session became unnecessary.» (No)
- Terrible idea. Having to write them off the black board yourself is always a total waste of time. I, for one, learn absolutely nothing while slavishly copying what the teacher writes.» (No)
- You probably learn something on these sessions I guess... But on the other hand there will be much less time to spend on the assignments ans I think you learn a lot when working with them.» (No)

The examples in the book was often too specific and not very general so sometimes there could be problems when you wanted to apply a method from the book on a problem that differed a little from the example in the book.» (Large extent)

Genomsnitt: 2.78 - I found the text to be to short and I didn"t like that almost all derivations were lacking. You learn really alot of reading and understanding the derivations. In total, I find the compendium to be almost useless since the lecture notes were so good. The only reason I tried to use the book was the fact that it was the only permissible aid on the exam. » (Rather bad)
- More figures and more examples. It would help to provide solutions or at least guidelines for how to solve the problems. The solutions are very long and it"s not uncommon to spend an hour or two for one problem. It"s really a waste of time looking for some small calculation error..» (Rather good)
- Inconsisten layout between chapters. Many chapters could have followed similiar layout, but didn"t.» (Rather good)
- Boströms compendium was good but sometimes left a bit to be desired. I feel more figures are needed, such as figures signifying assumed positive directions of forces for each problem. Also, sometimes the derivation of the wave equation and related equations for the different models was a bit too brief. The lecture notes were necessary to fill in the gaps here.» (Rather good)

Genomsnitt: 1.83 - I like the compact form of litterature. It might be harder to read, but everything you read matters. In especially american textbooks you just get lost in the great amount of text.» (Very bad)

- An alternative would be to print the lecture notes in a new compendium. But if so, please keep the large amount of drawings and figures. They really help» (Rather good)

- The calculations in the problems were extensive, and most of us already know how to do that. In a perfect world the problems should focus more on the methods themselfs (modal analysis, lagrange,...) how to make the correct choice + boundary conditions.» (Small extent)

- The level of the problems were good, but they were to many. I know we had an additional hour but I were still very stressed. I realize that you wanted to cover the whole course on the exam. In most courses this is note how the exam is designed and I think that you should rethink this.» (Rather good)

- The exam was a tremendous challenge. It seemed the assignments in all old exams as well as ours were all more or less unique. Therefore, the exam required a very solid general understanding of the course contents. Personally, I liked this about the exam, but maybe this is because I got my desired grade!» (Very good)
