2. The number of lecturers

The course used a large number of external experts as lecturers. How did you like this compared to the more typical course with one or a few acamic teachers?

Goals and goal fulfilment

The course syllabus states the course goals in terms of learning outcomes, i.e., knowledge, skills and attitudes to be acquired by the student during the course.

- List the most important sensor principles under consideration for automotive safety applications and to explain their technological advantages and limitations.
- Explain the special challenges that are encountered in information processing in vehicle safety system applications.
- Explain the most common systems for vehicle control assistance and intervention and to analyse their potential and possible limitations.
- Explain different system principles for information based interaction and communication with the vehicle surrounding.
- Describe the most important principles for driver information display and to explain the challenges in designing systems that are adapted to the human cognitive capacity and human behaviour and response.
- Explain the potential for improved crash safety and post collision emergency care with the use of new technologies.
- Compare, evaluate and prioritise between different active safety systems.

- I would say that a large part of the course is: what systems can be implemented into cars. Perhaps that is because I"m an electrical engineer but what I leart was more that it"s important with cheap systems than technical advanced. That might be covered by the last statement in the goals but perhaps these factors shoud be clearer.» (The goals give some guidance, but could be clearer)

- This home exam took alot time to write. In other courses I have had there is a 24 h limit as well as no of characters. That is much better. Students have different examinations during the examweek and the result might depend much on that.» (I prefer a 4-hour written examination)

The intension is to allow you to collect and synthesise information similar to a real world investigation work. Another aim is to let you organise your work and learning in your own way. Did it fullfill these goals

- It took some time to understand what the intentions of the project was (perhaps you should make clear that the project is very unclear). I was also a bit dissapointed that some parts. missing in our report, weren"t commented before the last version.» (Yes, very much)
