- Personally i don"t worry much about the course goals. For me it is important to understand everything the lecturer teaches and everything that is provided us to read.» (?)

- 85% of the examination time was spent into doing basic algebra. Not at all what the course should be about. I didn"t have time to think about question 2 for example.» (No, not at all)

- Needs less writing and more "visual" teaching. At least for my sake» (Small extent)
- It didn"t help much. It was abstract as one expects from an FEM course (which involves less physics from my view, or may be it is not easy to see through). But then such courses should be carefully conducted. The lectures involved simple examples explaining the physics and it seemed to make some sense, but, once you go back to the compendium and try to connect it, it wasn"t just possible. A lot of times the lecturer would not explain everything or just speak to himself.» (Small extent)

- As I mentioned earlier, it didn"t help much. It was difficult to connect with the lecture. I think it was just an ordered compilation of topics involving abstract mathematics, without trying to explain it well. It is not well thought and put down.» (Small extent)

- Man borde utnyttja pingpong till inlämningar. Nu var det väldigt oklart vid varje inlämning till vem den skulle mailas.» (Rather badly)
- I now have three different courses called timber engineering in pingpong. I hope this wont happen again.» (Rather badly)
- Management of Deadlines etc. was confusing. Different people gave different statements about when to hand in parts of the design task and how to work on them.» (Rather badly)

- The assignments takes much time, but I don"t feel that I learn very much. It feels silly to put a lot of time into writing a good report when the grader obviously just looks at the figures.» (Adequate)

- Very small course, low pace. Feels as if the solid mechanics courses are not as good liked as they should be.» (Poor)

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- There need to be room for everyone at the compulsory computer lab! Or else split it into to two sessions.»
- Stop draging out the lectures, if you cant finish them on time, add more instead of stealing time from us. »

- The way the comsol lab was executed. There were too few licenses to be able to have all the students do the mandatory lab. It was chaos. I suggest the students shall apply for a time to sit with the lab ex one group on Tuesday and one Thursday. »

- Make sure to have enough licensees before having a mandatory ABAQUS assignment.»
- Keep a higher pace, use index notation. There would definitely be time to fill the course with more stuff.»

- The compendium, which is impossible i guess. May be some other material could be provided, instead of the compendium. The lecturer might make it easy to explain the abstract mathematics involved. Teaching from the compendium will not be a good idea, as it doesn"t involve the physics behind it. But, may be the lecturer should try to explain some not so trivial concepts from the compendium, which is difficult to understand from the compendium.»
- Theory questions regarding the content each week during the course since the three assignments does not focus on theory, more MATLAB.»
- The lectures were not very good and rather unfocused. The hand written overhead slides were terrible. Black board is always better.»

- it is much better if we had any training session I mean that teachers solve some questions on the board during the period.»
- It is very difficult to connect the theory to the practice and should not be forgotten. The teacher were aware of this but maybe the assignments could be a little bit more integrated with the theory somehow. It is difficult but good to always try to make the subject clearer. »
- Low pedagogical level of teacher in the lectures...»
- all teachers should work with each other well since when I ask a question, there sometime got different answer from each teacher and this really made student confused.»
- The buckling compendium is the worst of all. It had all half explained things. At least the notations etc. common in all the compendiums should have been the same.»
