- It was good questions, but very straight forward. I would suggest one or two more complex questions on the exam. But considering it was the first time Balacs held the i think the exam was well built!» (Very easily solvable.)

- The exam was what I expected it to be since it was at the same level as the exam example. However, I think the questions were to easy given that you were allowed to bring the course book and the lecture slides. The exam result also reveals that the exam was on a low level.» (That was what I expected for.)

- It was a good exam, but the questions were not alike thoose exercised from the Feedback-book. The exam qusetion structure were good, and the exercise questions were sometimes im possible and sometimes ok. - It would be great if Balazs could correct all slides to next year. There were a lot of faults in the slides, and it is understandable to some extent since there are a lot of equations, but of course it is easier to understand if the equations are correct.» (Some extent)

- A and B were both kind of below the standard of at least bachelor courses at Chalmers. I did not use C. I got an easy 5 at the exam but still feel I should not have gotten that grade considering my knowledge in the subject.» (?)
- The book were overall good, but had more information than the slides and sometimes the information in the book just made it more confusing. So maybe a book that follow the course better could be to think of.» (the set of slide shows combined with teachers explanation.)

- I prefer when the teacher write on the board instead. Then I think it it easier to stay concentrated. » (Adequately structured.)
- could have been a bit better structure on the lecture slides, the headlines could have been different than just kalman filtering 1,2,3. It was very hard to follow the equations in the slides on the lectures.» (Difficult to follow.)

- in the end kalman filtering and LQG were quite easy but it took a while before you understod all the matrises.» (Kalman filtering)

- Yujiao offered the students to visit her room every day around lunch time to ask questions. If it was not for her my group would not have passed the last assignment. During the assignment-exercises the teachers did not have time to answer questions since all students had to be given an oral approvement which took a lot of time. » (Rather poor)
- Hard to ask questions during the "tutorial" sessions. Maybe need more assistans during thoose sessions or more time.» (Rather good)
- All of the teachers were very helpful but they were unmanned during the lessons for project questions . There were normally a lot of waiting in order to get help. » (Rather good)
- During the lab help sessions it would take ages to get help. If you were to slow to get on the help list you wouldn"t get any help at all. It was good though that one could get help directly from the assistants office, and they were usually very helpful.» (Rather good)
- I missed a session where the students solved exercises with a class leader helping them when they stuck» (Rather good)

- I think it is extraordinarily bad that the there were no answers provided to the exercises given. How can you know if you have been solving the problem in a correct way if you cannot check the answer? If the publisher prohibits to give the answers to the students, than choose another book. I did not find the book very good anyhow.» (Poor)
- Balazs is a very good lecturer and I found the subject to be interesting.» (Excellent)
- Balazs Kulcsar did a very good job. He really wanted to learn and cared for us students. He did an excellent job. » (Excellent)

19. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The web-question form in the last lecture was really awesome!»
- The lecturer! Very good on explaining, distinct. Also a good listener, humble and wanted to help the students. The assistants were also great!»

- The course summary that Yujiao provided during the last exercise was very good. Also it was great that Yujiao printed the exercises. I think the game that Balazs had created to the last lecture was very good. Both Yujiao and Balazs took an active interest in the course and that is very inspiring.»

20. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Other exercises than thoose in the book. Exercises that are more relevant for the exam.»

- Provide the students exercises with answers, and even better, provide the answers together with hints on how to solve the problem. »
- The third home assignment took a lot of time. It would be a good idea to split it up into to two assignments.»
- It would be good if Faisal was more prepared for the students questions during consultation times since everyone pretty much asked the same questions. Also it would be good if he gave the same answer to all the students on particular questions, not different answers to different groups. In addition to this,if he expects the students to submitt assignmnets on time,he needs to give feedback on time and not the evening before the exam.»

- The lab. assignment is not so useful and it takes too much time.»

- Slide should be updated. Dynamic programming part should be more clear and understandable. What is more is to select a good reference book.»

- A list of recommended exercises with answers. I used the set of supplementary non-compulsory exercises but it didnt cover all parts very well and could be better suited to the course.»

- My overall impression is that this is a great course.»
- Since the course is considered a bit difficult by many, I belive that if there was a "mini exam" (just a few questions, maybe giving one or two bonus points for the final exam) after the first two or three weeks, when the basics is finished it would get the students to start study earlier. And thus the latter part of the course will be easier to understand/Assimilate.»
- When asking for help with the assignments the assistant seemed bery unprepared for questions. Did not know that values hade changed from last year, for example. Did waste a lot of time because of the assistant not being prepared. Yijao is very well planned and good at teaching.»
- Good course, i feel that i can make a state-space model of almost any system and that I have a deeper knowledge of how LTI systems works.»
- Maybe similar to helicopter lab may be car or buggy experiment with different state control to understand the realistic scenarios in Automotive industry if possible and realizable.»

- The teaching assistant, Ms. Song, was one of the best TA"s I"ve ever worked with. Her explanations clarified everything in the course very well. Attending her study sessions made a huge difference in my understanding of the material.»
