- Too many hours of lectures. Why are there no exercises? This course is mainly mathematical so how would the students even understand to solve the questions without any exercises?» (Around 20 hours/week)

- Lecture slides is not good os it should be improved. Rüdigers part is mainly pictures. He is a perfect lecturer but it could be improved if the pictures were reduced and more content added. Whenever there are text, it states really important concepts so i like that. Carinas content part is adequate because there are like 10 sentences in one slide which makes the students confused. Anyway she did a good job when explaining so her part is ok. John"s part is good and he is a good explainer. Whenever he starts writing on the board, it"s hard to see what he writes. But he explains so much so it"s ok. Probably grade 2 of 5 they would receive from me.» (Some extent)

- Using the 20m telescope is probably the coolest thing I have done here at Chalmers.» (Great extent)
- Without this laboration, it would be hard to pass Carinas part. I learned mostly what we did when the report writing started. So the lab was really good because the lab was mixed with mathematics and theory» (Great extent)

- To some extend. Carina mailed us and helped us whenever we asked for help (she did a really good job). But the labb manual was really bad. There was no manual for the XS. It was pretty hard to understand what to do. So the lab manual could be more clearer. Carina helped us pretty much so i think many of us succeded anyway» (Yes)

- Please do not change the subject of the lab. This lab was so interesting and also helped us the understanding of the astronomy part. »
- There should be one good manual explaining how to use the XS software.This could save lot of time.Referring to different mails explaining the use of XS makes it difficult to understand and is the main cause of making mistakes using the software. »

- At this point in our Master"s studies, I think more emphasis could be given for project-related work than to the written exam. I believe that one learns a lot while working on projects.» (Yes)
- I personally think that this course is in bad shape. Probably one of the most interesting courses I had but also one of the courses that is in bad shape that students will have hard time to pass this course. Please add project work. We do really understand much more when we work through a problem.» (Yes)

- There were no exercises but Carina solved 4 or 5 questions during the lecture. How will the students be able to solve any mathematical questions during the exam if we do not have any exercises or given problems? John had exercises such as coffe cup problem and handout exercises so i will not critice him so much. Carina solved couple of questions (which is not enough). Rüdiger on the other hand did not solve any exercises. » (Too few)

- Carina really good. She helped us via mail really much. John helped us day before the exam and Rüdiger gave a old exam in his part 1 day before the exam.» (Very good)

- With too high i mean too many lectures. There were no exercises. It felt like this course were most theoretic but infact this course is so mathematical, so either this course changes to a project course or the teachers must give at least 2hours/week exercises.» (Too high)

- All three teacher is great as persons. But they maybe should communicate with each other more. It didn"t feel that all three parts linked to each other. It felt more like that there were three seperate exam parts.» (Poor)

23. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- 1) Change to a project course that all three parts are linked to each other. 2)Add exercises. Hard to solve any questions during the exam because we didn"t have much exercises 3)give solutions to old exams. It"s hard to know if we solved in a correct way if we do not have any solutions. 4) Rüdigers part must really have exercises. His part is "derive equation" questions so exercises in his must be added. 5) Amount of hours that are divided to lectures. Give 80% lectures and 20% exercises (at least) 6) Lab manual. Give half a page explaination for XS. 7) If there will be exam next year. Reduce amount of questions of the exam but give more points per question 8) John Conways part was maybe too hard in the exam. 9) Rüdigers question 5a was difficult to solve without any formula sheet so give a formula sheet for the exam. »
- There should be tutorials for all the three parts. The lecture hours should be modified.»

24. Additional comments

- Blocking system does not seem to work. After a particular point in time, both the students and the teachers get tired.»
- From a students view, it was pretty hard to study this course. Three parts that students must pass without any exercises, it might be hard to pass this course. Anyway teachers were great but the course can be improved. Thanks for a interesting course =)»
- For the astronomy part, amount of content on the lecture slides was too high. Old exams with answers should be made available well before exams. »
- The trhee parts should be more coherent and linked together. Especially the interferometry and VLBI parts.»
