- I liked the exams. Studying for the exam thought me alot, good variation of the questions. The labs and stuff was also nice.» (Yes, definitely)

Genomsnitt: 3.73 - The webpage was finished, a lecture plan, lecture notes, assignments, old exams, all of it was up *before* the course started. I have never seen this on Chalmers before. And solutions (understandable and readable!) to this years exam was posted the same day!
If all teachers at CS (or indeed Chalmers) would take a weekend course in course administration for Björn, life as a student would be a lot easier...» (?)

Genomsnitt: 3.85 - I had problems debugging my programming assignment and got very poor feedback as to why it did not work. I e-mailed my assigned grader and asked more specifically what was going wrong inside my methods and the reply i got was simply that "he didn"t know". This just seems lazy to me since he should have known, and if he didn"t he had (I assume) multiple working variants of the lab he could compare it to to see where mine differed.
The same grader also gave me returns for using my own notation and for describing a message exchange with words instead of with notation. Note that this was a very easy question that only required the sending of 2 messages.
This course was the first time, in my 5 years at Chalmer"s, that I have failed the lab part of a course.

- Only weak point of the course imo, that there were few organized opportunites for asking questions. Michal does a really good job at giving feedback on the handin assignments (though it could have been faster) but I happen to know he is also an awesome "handledare" and I"d have liked to see more of that.» (Rather poor)
- The course assistants should give better hints and explanations when an assignment is rejected. Not just "wrong on question 2" or something like that.» (Rather poor)

- The assignments were a lot easier than I expected, but they definitely helped in gaining a better understanding of the material.
Unfortunately I did not have time to do any of the exercises myself, but I did learn a lot from the exercise sessions as well.»

- I got a fail on many assignments multiple times and the teacher just said it was wrong, not what was wrong. VERY BAD. It was also quite inconsistent as some students passed with the same answers as some who failed.»

- Covering actual cryptographic libraries along with best practices on how to use them in actual applications.
Possibly including an assignment on constructing a rudimentary system that needs to use basic cryptographic primitives.»

- There"s too much content in this course, way too much. That and I think there"s a dissonance between the exam and the content of the lectures, the exam is focused on problem solving but the lectures are more about learning facts.»
