- I got passed for the second lab and when I demonstrated the third one I "got in trouble" for an undetected error from the second part. I also got asked to implement functionality not specified in the PM and also functionality contradicting the lab PM.» (Very bad)
- We got approved without comments of several things in design and construction that later revealed to be incorrect and had to be changed or worked around.» (Bad)
- 1 and 3 was corrected ok, but assignment 2 was rejected because something was missing which was nowhere in the assignment - very annoying. (The trigger didn"t check if one fulfills the prerequisites - but nowhere in the assignment it was said that this should be done by a trigger!)» (Bad)

- The supervisors were really not helpful. The most common answer we got when asking questions was "I don"t know, google for it". Another time we got the answer "Sorry, I"m too tired to see why your code doesn"t work". Some of them also appeared to have little grasp of Oracle: "I know how to do it in MySQL, but in Oracle, i don"t know. Google for it" Supervisors with good knowledge about that which the course is about would be preferable.» (Bad)

- The iSQL interface is pretty lame to work in. We downloaded and used Oracle SQL Developer wich is free to use. Might be a good tip for students next year, since alot of ppl worked in the iSQL interface.»
- The exam with different levels on each block seems harder than a traditional structure. In a traditional you get a mixture of easy and harder questions. In this approach all questions are hard but you still need as many points.»
- I am an international student from Pakistan and I have studied Databases and then Advanced databases in Bachelors and then I have studied it on my own but i cant explain how great this course was for me to learn and it has really developed a strong base for me in databases. Niklas is a great communicator and a very good teacher. I have studied the course book but whatever I got by attending lectures and doing the assignment cannot be compared to anything else. Lecture slides are really of great help and these are designed very well with connection of each previous slide to the next one. But even then if one attends lectures regularly then I can bet that he/she can learn which only book reading cannot give. Niklas has a strong grip on databases and I wanted to personally thank him for such a great execution of this course but i could not. I will never forget him for my whole life when it comes to Databases. I would request the course administration to please offer a course "Advanced Databases" or "Distributed Databases" and the lecturer should be Niklas. - Remove the Relational Algebra and spend this time on the XML part so that you actually get something out from XML. Never understood how to actually use XML in reality.» (Well)
