- Because of very general formulated goals this is hard to answer. But by comparing the lecture notes from last year to this year you can surely say that their more strict formulated goals were reached while our far more general goals were only scratched. It is nice to say we learned something about special software packages like BLAS or LAPACK. But beyond knowing their existence their was discussing academic discussion about them. » (To some extent)

- Mathematical equations on slides are the worst idea ever. It"s not possible to understand anything.» (Small extent)
- Copying the course literature on slides does nothing for the understanding of the material. Their was nothing special prepared for the lectures. Sure, typing out of the book the content of the slides was a lot of work. But this is not what I expect from a teacher. I expect to expand on things in the book to make things more clear. To add up on something. Copying is no intellectual achievement.» (Small extent)
- It was hard to follow when everything was on slides, it would be easier if more was done on the blackboard.» (Some extent)

- We can read a book on our own. We don"t need a course for that.» (Poor)
- Because of the focus shift their was no discussion of BLAS routines for example. The lecture didn"t add up anything to reading the book. There was nothing made more clear through the lectures. » (Poor)
- It was an interesting subject. Good content, but it felt that it was very much and short of time to get it through.» (Adequate)

- The assignments was really good, but could be more integrated and related to the lectures.»

- Maybe what is emphasized during lectures, some times trivial matrix multiplication was going through rather detailed while other things which could be more detailed.»
- Change back to the focus of the year before! Create a teaching concept of the course! The book I can read myself, I do not need someone to read it to me on bad typeset "LaTeXed" slides. »

16. Additional comments

- Really nice to get know current research fields! This could be concentrated to a single lecture(2x45min) instead spreding it out on several lectures.»
- I was very excited about the course since I attended to a course like this before on a BACHELOR level and this is one of my fields of work. But after taking the course I must say, for a MASTER course this was quite a bad excuse. All in all I am very disappointed in CHALMERS about this course. »
