- It was too difficult. When feeling pretty well before the exam it should not feel hopeless after three minutes of the exam.» (No, not at all)

- I don"t see the point of testing the first two weeks as they where clearly tested in A1-13. Also I believe the examination was set to a level above earlier years and above what is reasonable for the course.» (To some extent)

- It was kind of mechanical. I had not got a feel for the subject when I did the assignments and still I was able to do it.» (To some extent)

- The subject seemed too mechanical in the beginning during the lectures. It was just derivation and lacked the feel for the subject. The "why" part was missing and the "how" part was there. May be it is the nature of the subject, and it is difficult to get a feel, unless one digs deeper.» (Some extent)

24. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- No powerpoint lectures (elastic waves).»
- The exam was insane, it was like it belonged to a course I haden"t even taken. None of the examples from Reddy were anywhere near that difficult, everyone I"ve spoken to are sure they failed and people refer to it as "the exam from hell". So, you know... Change that. Maybe more excercises that are actually like the exam questions. »
- Although it is nice to work with a commercial tool which is used in industry, I prefer open source software. This way students could actually see how the software is working (if they wish to).»

- The Elastic waves should be changed till next year.»
- Examination of "fundamentals" should only be done in A1-13, not on written exam. I don"t see why a lot of derivations should be memorized, better is to prove an understanding as was done in A1-13. Kepp the exam to linear elasticity.»

- May be a little effort should be made to make the learning more lively and not just mechanically deriving the equations. I don"t know how. But I think I did fairly well in the exam, if not very well, but I havn"t got a feel for the subject yet.»

- It was a very hard exam which involved too much algebra. Therefore there was not enough time to answer every exam question fully.»
- The exam was to hard. The exams on the course homepage was much easier. What level should the exams be in the future? As this one or like the old ones?»
- A written exam that I feel was unfair and didnt test what we really knew,it was all about luck getting the right eq. from start. And TOO MUCH LEARNING BY HAND! »
