- Really strange that if you achieve a 5 on the exam you still can"t get a 5 without doing an oral exam in fall. What about exchange students going home etc?» (To some extent)

- Quite good tecing on exercises from both Jorge and Claes. Lectures are a catastrophe. Claes speaks so low that if you sit further back than row 4 you don"t hear anything. Unclear sketches and so on. If you missed a lecture you hade no clue what you"d missed and how to catch up.» (Small extent)
- the teatcher was talking so very quietly so you could not hear him which lead to that you ended up not going to the lectures. » (Small extent)

- Why is there no real course literature? The compendium is just a mix of different texts, articles and powerpointpresentations. There is no context. All equations refer to BKR not to Eurodcode, the preface said there was no time to change but the change to Eurodcode can not have come as a surprise? (Structural engineering has used Eurocode since we started Chalmers in 2008...) » (Some extent)

- I took "strukturmekanik" simultaneously, and since that was a very demanding course with several examination tasks I spent most of the time on that course, unfortunately.» (20-40%)

- I think that a better structure during the lectures would promote the learning. It is sometimes hard to follow what is written on the black board. The notes are hard to follow when you look back at older lectures.» (Adequate)

- Could be a good course, but with nothing to do most of the course and only a test it is seen as a reather lazy class which means that tou don"t study it until the very last week. » (Neutral)
- Since I hope to work within the subject I believe the course will be very useful in the future. I think the content is very relevant. One of the more interesting courses this far in the master programme.» (Very high)

- Övningstillfällen där exempel gås i genom av övningsledare varje gång.»

- The material in the compendium seemed very relevant, and should definitely be kept. The solved examples on pingpong was also very useful during studies. »

14. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Claes Ahlén, det går inte att höra vad han säger under föresläsningarna. Han är väldigt ostrukturerad när han skriver på tavlan och han känns väldigt oförberedd och ointresserad. Även om han är duktig och kunnig inom sitt ämne så fångar han inte studenterna på det viset.»
- This course is very important for those who are more focused on geotechnics than drinking/waste water. I would therefore like to see some kind of assignments that students would need to carry out to get further understanding on the subject. Having only one final exam which accounts for 100% of the grade and NO assignments to hand in what so ever, is just not to par witch the other courses or the expectations I have for this masters program. And why are no lecture slides on ping pong?»
- You need to be able to hear the person lecturing otherwise it"s no point of going there. I went for three lectures and after that, never again. Would be nice with a real book as well. The compendium was not especially tempting to read.»
- Lectures need to improve!!!! Claes needs to speak up and have a structure in the teaching. Proper course literature would be appreciated. Eurocode must be introduced. This is a masters course were we are supposed to learn both theory and how to calculate. Overall, I had the feeling that Claes don"t put any time or effort in teaching and he does not listen to the students. I"m really disappointed at this course, it does not reach the level I expect of Chalmers masters course. »
- The team of teachers! No one feels responsible for this course and therefore the motivation is very low to get into this subject!»
- More lab testning and group work to get the student started with the course earlier»
- Better structured notes. The compendium would also be easier to follow with a proper numbering of the pages.»
