I rather have them on the course home page from start so I can download them as quick as possible and read them. » (Rather badly)

- It felt random wether when and how long the teachers were in place when we hade F-T4009 resvered.» (Rather good)

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?- One could have a traditional written exam.»
- Nothing really.»
- The assignments should have be posted on the course homepage much earlier. Also if the schedule says that we have computers from 3 to 7, I want a teacher to be there all the time (short breaks are of course ok).»
- The sugar production in Iran assignment, it was terrible. The main task was to implement the model in AMPL which was difficult to do because we made mistakes and didn"t learn any optimisation in the process. We didn"t even know if our model was correct and when we asked we only got a couple of hints. Since our model wasn"t working we could not study the questions that we were supposed to study and spent many hours on trying different strategies for our model. When the model almost worked we tried to do the questions which were super easy and gave us exactly the expected answers. If we increased a certain cost, the total cost was increased etc. It would have been much better to do the assignment in two steps. 1) Form a model and hand in, get the corrected model back and 2) Implement a model which you know is correct. I didn"t learn anything from the sugar assignment, really bad!»
- Make the assignments easier to understand and have some lecture on how AMPL works.»
- The assignments should be less work and more thinking, i.e. fewer tasks and more so you really got to understand e.g shadow prices.
This especially concern the first assignment.»
16. Additional comments- I was inspired to take this course from taking the other course in optimisation but this wasn"t a very good course. Alot of the material was covered in the other course and I didn"t learn a whole lot in this one. Strange to have two similar courses.»
- I don"t like how the assignments were hard but after completing them I did not feel prepared (and I was indeed not prepared) for the final exam. It is not fair for students that aspire for a grade 4 or 5. »
