15. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The lectures were overall very good.»
- The paper presentations, it was great to read original and inspiring papers!»
- Paper presentations and reports, being able to read the others papers before the presentations, and the presentations without powerpoint»

16. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The exam! It did not match the time allotted to do it. Some questions on Magnus part which included lexical knowledge which was not clearly part of the course (e.g. dust lanes relation to co-rotation).»
- Two things: - Maybe I missed those because of traveling, but exercises on Lindblad resonances would have been useful. - The long derivation in the cosmology part on the exam was maybe not the best exam question. On an exam it"s not so much fun to ponder derivations, instead it"s better to check knowledge. Mathematical formulas, even though steps are made simple, could mean anything (not necessarily related to cosmology) and therefore feels wrong on the exam. That kind of question one might solve even if one knows nothing about cosmology, and also fail even if one knows a lot about cosmology. If you know a lot of things, but are tired, you can still answer knowledge questions. But derivations in a tired and stressed state of mind are much more tricky, even though they might be simple if you know the answer. »

17. Additional comments

- The goals of the course were not very clear, especially the galaxy part. If the important concepts in plan were indeed what you should know when the course was done the goals were probably set to high for a masters course where galaxies is only half the course.»
- 1. Lectures were wonderful but I think it can be made even better by making it more interactive - something like what was done in the Modern Astrophysics course (Send some questions to the students prior to the lectures and then building the lecture based on them).»
- - Objectives could be a bit clearer for the cosmology part - On the cosmology part, yt would be nice to have a class dedicated to instruments (telescopes, ...)»
