- The distribution of points on the exam was not that good. Some sub-question requied 20-30 minute calculation only 1 point but the last question had almost 1/4 of the total exams points and many of Us hadn"t time to solve it, thought it was not that difficult. (too much time consuming question for poor points when very clear description of answer was required by the teacher **so either extra exam time or less question**» (To some extent)

- Think that she was a bit messy when she was trying to explain the assignment. And when she was doing a calculation example of the RES it was a quick short intro and then she expected us to have understood every thing, let us discuss for 40 minutes and when she wanted to talk about our result it was done in 5 min. No time to ask questions if our result was right calculated (she did a comparison between diff options - or + so no values was presented). Don"t like how she declare the whole class as idiots when she was annonsing the result from the assignment. And telling us how big problem we will have if we wanted to pass the course.» (Very badly)
- The introduction was very unclear, which was shown epecially when the RES assignment was corrected as very specific answers where reqiured. There was no room for individual discussions as they where deemed wrong without much explanations as to why.» (Very badly)

- I liked the assignment. The difficulty was on a good level and on that stage we had lots of time to do and reflect over it. The assignments information could be reorganiced in another way so you can do the calculations in a "straight line" and dont find information in the wrong places. It needs a structure on what do do and then the information should come in the same order or the questions is easily misunderstood. I realy liked this assignment and it gave me a high learning courve so keep it!!! » (large extent)
- This was a great assignment but it will be more suitable with better advising, feedback, communication and more specified question when the supervisor requires very detail answer to the questions without describing in the tasks. but I"m really disappointed of that much work and energy I put on this project as I described above at Question 13.» (large extent)

- It is nice to see programs that are in use in industry, even though the interface of the program was sort of terrible. This was something new and interesting, the marginal effects were sort of repetition of old things.» (Some extent)

- A better english guide need to be developed in order to take more advantages when learning the MARTES program. It is not enough to have swedish speaker in the group. A guide with images of the contour of the program, could be more useful.» (Some extent)

- I don"t know if this is a good assignment as it is now, since most of the problems went to debugging matlab behaviour. Maybe better matlab examples could be given at the same level of model complexity. It is good thing to learn how the equations are formed and the boundary conditions, but tackling to get them into a form in which matlab can read them sucks.» (Some extent)

- A way to improve the group work should be to make a written evaluation of the group work individually. A student in my group had no experience of group work and we had some communication problems, wherefore the work load was inequal.» (Rather poorly)
- It"s hard when some in your group doesnt do anything, and what should you do then? do everything by yourself or go up to you and complain? and what are your solution to that problem...» (Rather well)
- Personally, I think it"s a very good idea that each group include at least one Swedish classmate. It"s a good opportunity for Chalmers students and exchange students to learn from each other, not only in academic achievements but also in culture difference.» (Very well)

- I wuld say it was a bit to high load on the martes and Lp assignment. I feel i need some of that time to go deeper in the subjects disscussed on lectures with self reading.» (Low)

- Almost too high. Especially during the study time before exam because I had deadlines for my other course at the same time.» (High)
- But that"s my own fault and will. I"m taking three courses at the same time, studying at 150% this period.» (Too high)
- The other course (combustion) took way too much time from this course. This course is much more interesting but I had to do so many hand-ins in the combustion course that I had nowhere near the time I would have liked to have to spend on this course. So the reason why I had to prioritize the other course has nothing to do with this course.» (Too high)

- Maybe not four hour lectures... Nothing in particular should be changed, just try to use the knowledge and experience from this year to make it better.. come prepared and so on.»

- Erika, she confuses students and is not good at answering questions. Her exercises were a waste of time as their content was confusing and the task was easier understood by myself. »

- Erika Mata was just whimsy, couldn"t explain her own project and corrected very weird. The people who had to make revisions couldn"t really understand her comments, or lack thereof, rather. When asked to clarify, she just said read the comments, but there were no comments! They had to check approved reports to understand what she wanted. It is still unclear what group methanol is a part of, since both energy carrier and distribution network gave deductions.»

- I might be wrong, but It looks like MARTES is doing linear programming to simulate the system. May be coupling MARTES and LP in a project with all simulations and optimizations to be done by our own (matlab) could give us a better understanding of both processes. »

- I missed some reflections on how these topics are used and worked with in research and industry. E.g. some guest lectures from companies, or examples of some reasearch that is being done. Or just some more examples from external studies and research and how it is done and used. »
- the main content of this course and espacially of the assignments was reading in a crystal ball. A discussion of own results was wanted, but for passing the projects only other claims were judged.»
- One thought would be to look on what Christian Azar is doing in his course, sustainable energy futures, because I found the two courses to be quiet similar.»

- my most of learning came from the assignments. this course was a mix of previuos courses like: heat & power tech., sustainable energy futures, policy instrument. It would have been much more interesting course if more emphasis was given on assignments by making them bigger and more detailed.»
- Since I didn"t attend the course last year I can"t compare, but judging from what I"ve heard, the layout of the course this year is much better. It is a good balance between information and simulation, and Mikael is very... special, which makes the lectures more interesting. He could, however, have better understanding of what the different graphs he"s presenting actually represents. There were a few instances where he just said "I don"t know, ask [someone]". While the honesty is appreciated, there might not be much use to show graphs just to show them, if it isn"t clear what info it is supposed to convey. »
- I feel like the topic of this course is about how to handle the link between the policy and the market in the energy systems. A worldwide overview of the different policy instruments and market models in use could be good. This was done for northern europe market european market mainly.»
