6. To what extent has the teaching been of help for your learning?

- I find it hard to get much useful learning from lectures where a lot of code is showed in a projector. I think the time can be better used in other ways. The code from the examples can often be understood by looking at in outside of the lecture. Of course, then there have to be time available to do that. I felt that the assignments took so much time that I could not spend time on the examples from the lectures, which I very much had wanted. Another problem was that many things was presented in the lectures, but there were no assignments about them (e.g. Agda, type families, theoretical proofs). This makes is very important to have some free time available to study this before the exam.» (Some extent)

- Extremely neat and well organised web page. Nice with syntax highlighted code in HTML. Good with several past exams with detailed solutions. Suggestion: Wrap up the example code from the lectures in a archive file, to be downloaded all at once. » (Very well)

- Very nice with a programming course that focuses so much on design. » (Good)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The assignment 3 project idea is very nice. Reading and understanding a large Haskell project is good to get a better feel for how the language is used. Most assignment solutions are just small toy programs. »
- The guest lectures on Feldspar and Agda should definitely remain.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The start and finish time of the project in assignment 3. Workload on the last week of the course: Lectures: 4 h Project: 20h Prepare for exam: 20h + Time to prepare for lectures and study the material from the lectures All but the most disciplined people will also have to do more work on the project the days just before the submission deadline. This is not a good solution. And it not a good solution to put the deadline after the exam either. The only acceptable solution is to plan the course so that the project is started earlier so that it can be finished in reasonably time before the exam. I consider a reasonable deadline to be ca one week before the exam, and a reasonable start time to be tree week before the exam. »

- There are no questions about assignments in this form? And nothing specifically about the actual content of the course? Maybe a course specific form would be better.»
- There could be some suggestions for libraries that is interesting and could be extended for the last assignment. Also it would be nice to have a choice to do something like how the last assignment was in previous years, i.e. to have the ability to do an open advanced assignment.»
