- The lecturer did ask us many questions during the lectures but it felt like that u almost always was wrong when I answered so I stopped answering.» (Rather good)
- Google group, lab sessions, questioning at lectures and mailing the asistants all went like clockwork» (Very good)

- The labs had very different workload. Some took not more than one hour to fulfill, some took over 7 hours!» (?)
- In my opinion there should be more handins or similar. I failed to learn some things such as xml and relational algebra, since it wasn"t on the labs and I focused on them. I didn"t spend a huge amount of time on the course, so I can really see a benefit of increasing the amount of work and including more of those things that were not in the lab. perhaps as separate handins. » (Adequate)

- Sometimes information you needed to be able to do the lab was included in the Thursday lectures, which made it hard to finish since the deadline was on Friday. The lectures should be earlier in the week to make it possible to finish the labs earlier. The tutorial sessions should be in a computer lab! Most/all exercises were adapted to be done on a computer, but since there were no computers in the room one would have to bring their own computer... This should not be required! I thought the lectures and labs were excellent though, just pointing out the problems so it will be fixed until next year.» (Good)

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- i would not say must be changed, but adding little more complexity would make the course more interesting.»
- I saw relational algebra many times during the lectures but never really understood why it was relevant. since you include it on the exam with a few points, perhaps put a bit more energy on this. the xml things seem not so closely connected to the rest of the material, and another language/syntax to learn in the last week really doesn"t make things easier. perhaps mention it earlier or include it in the labs, or somehow force us to use it practically (or remove it). I missed those two parts but I could figure out the algebra part from given expressions. i felt lost on the xml though. »
- The labs are outrageous! We are forced to create overcomplicated tables with horrible performance implications through a lousy database interface. Having worked with databases for ears on a larger scale, I gave up on the labs out of frustration!»
- Tutorial sessions SHOULD be in computer labs! The lectures needs to be earlier in the week so one can actually finish the lab on time.»

- I think it would be better to have more structured excercise sessions, where the excercise leaders could have showed some harder excercises on the blackboard or something like that. As it was now, most students used the excercise sessions as extra lab sessions.»
- There are two things that could be change for next year. First, it would be nice to be able to hand in the assignment on Monday morning because as some elements were introduced on thursday, it"s rather short for handing paper on friday. Second thing would be the filling of the database. I think it takes too much time for the few material it introduces. It could be fixed by giving a pre-established nomenclature for the database, and you could give us an insert.sql file to use.»

- The stupid thing with not allowing people to enter if they are late. All it does is scares people away, nobody wants to take the risk of the teacher "embarrassing" them. I can not understand how the teaching can get interrupted by such, when it"s never interrupted in any other course. Also, it"s quite funny how the lectureslides covered that a class could not be booked into a room with less spots than the class had students - and in the same time book us in a 100 person room when we are 130 students. (Though at the end I guess not the 100 person room was enough..)»
- I"m not very fond of the exam. I"d prefer a more standard arrangement, but I understand if this arrangement works best for the subject.»
- Since I had a bad experience with my lab partner I think it would be nice to work individual with hte labs.»

- In tutorials and lab sessions, everyone could be requested to ask questions in English and also if the assistants would answer the questions in English it would have been a perfect course. The language barrier discouraged me to go to the tutorials. »
