1. How have you prioritised the course relative to the other courses this period.*26 svarande
Genomsnitt: 2 2. Was it easy to follow the lectures? Do you feel that the lecturer presented new material in a good way?*- Yes»- The repetition at the beginning was good to follow the new stuff in the lecture» - It was OK.» - It was alright.» - Yes he did, though the subject is rather complex and a slow paste would be preferred, at least for me since I dont have maths/physics background in that extent. The last couple of lectures were really complicated, though looking back on them after completing the assignments, they made more sense. » - yes» - A bit much information sometimes, otherwise good» - It was ok, but I think you learn more if you write yourself. I.e. do organized lectures on the blackboard and pause to let students write it down.» - Yes» - It was almost always easy to follow but sometimes was it big jumps in the notes. » - not that much» - Yes» - Not at all but enougth to follow.» - The lectures were ok.» - Yes» - no , they were not good,aside to this course , I had structural dynamics and comparing professors performance is like comparing 100 with 10.professor"s performnace was really bad in this course.» - The lectures were ok» - Lectures quite easy to follow even if they use a lot of mathematics and fluid mechanics materials.» - Sometimes difficult to follow all the derivations.» - Some times the lectures were difficult to understand but in general it was ok.» - some things was too basic and some too advanced» - It wasn"t always easy to follow. What could be improved with the lectures?- Some tips for first assignment, like mesh and stuff.»- slow down, especially when much "hard" math are being presented. » - lectures was nice» - More structured notes on the blackboard. Use titles, and subtitles etc.» - More explanation on the figures and formulas in the notes.» - Teacher could be more organized when right at board during the lectures» - ... no idea. What could be improved with the lecture notes?- Sometimes it feels like it leaves a lot out, especially at the end, some exam questions could not bee found in the LN etc.»- hard to say, maybe a few more examples regarding some sections. » - none» - More complete notes» - More "physical" motivation why certain formulas are used» - The notes was good but some more complements and blackboard derivations.» - For those who didn"t have the book there wasn"t always enough information for making the assignments.» - No idea.» - I can already tell that"s gonna be super hlepful.» 7. Did you get enough help with computer exercises from the exercise teachers?- Yes»- To some extend, could help more.» - Eysteinn was helpful. The other two sometimes seemed a bit uninterested. They sometimes refused to help due to being "too busy" when we asked for help outside the scheduled exercise hours. This is the first course at Chalmers that that has happened.» - yes, after harassing them at their offices. » - yes off course» - Yes» - Yes» - it was a big disappointment that there only was a few hours when the teachers had time for questions.» - yes» - Yes» - Yes. Especially Eysteinn and Haukur were very helpful.» - yes , they were not bad» - Sometimes what we had to do wasnt very clear (on task k2 we decided to discretise the equation for non uniform mesh althought it wasnt necessary for instance)» - Yes, there were hire if we had any qyestions.» - yes» - We sometimes had to wait very long to get help because there were so many people in the exercises.» - Yes. » - Yes, they were very helpful and well prepared.» - I can already tell that"s gonna be super hlepful.» 8. Genomsnitt: 3.42 (bidrar till totalt genomsnitt/jämförelseindex) - The tasks should contain all difficulties. Now some groups never had a source term, for example, in the two first tasks. It is more important that the tasks give a complete understanding than that they are unique. » (Not good enough) 10. What could be improved with the tasks?- before each new tutorial it would be helpful to just get an introduction what it is about and maybe some hints (it was done in our last task and that was quite helpful)»- Don"t really know.» - Fewer different cases and instead tasks that contain all important aspects (such as source terms). they should be more difficult and also the course assistants should be tougher when examining the reports.» - look above...» - tasks were some difficult» - Nothing» - Some cases was unrealistic and some cases gave very boring results.» - Some paper for the particular task are really difficult to understand...» - if the oral presentation or same amount of work were removed the time to solve the tasks should be more adequate » - The presentations should have been given in groups where everyone had a different exercise not a similar one like it was now.» - I can already tell that"s gonna be super hlepful.» 11. How did you like the course arrangement (Lectures/Lecture notes/Computer exercise/Course homepage/Information)- ok»- It was OK, although, for example, no date has been posted on when the exam can be examined (granskning).» - cant complain, pretty standard. » - Ok» - I missed important information on the web page. » - Worked well.» - sometimes it is hard to understand how the lectures notes in the website are classified with respect to the lectures.» - It was good.» - it was good except the comp exercise» - It was good and there was a fair amount of work.» - I can already tell that"s gonna be super hlepful.» 12. How did you like the examples of the use of CFD shown by the lecturer and the guest from industry?- OK.»- OK» - was ok, I cant really compare to anything else...» - No opinion» - Not so interesting.» - it was good» - quite interesting to get an overview of the work done in the industry!» - Good» - seen it all before» - The guest lecturer from AVL could have shown a little bit more about what the software can be used for instead of the part about product development.» - I can already tell that"s gonna be super hlepful.» 13. What is our general impression of the course. Are your expectations safisfied?- It was OK, harder to grasp and follow the end though.»- My expectations were not satisfied.» - they are indeed, I learned a lot and I found it both funny and challenging. » - yes» - Yes» - I had high expectations, but a strange view on teaching made me very disappointed.» - no» - This course is quite hard because it uses a lot of mathematics and fluid dynamics. But i did learn a lot of things, even from a programming point of view. It also provide an overview on cfd software, how they work and their limits.» - dont think so, dont know if i understand the basic,improvement and accuracy for/in cfd sofware better now.» - I was satisfied because I learned a lot more through the exercises than I have learned in other courses.» - I expected a challenging course and I was right. Did the exam reflect the course in a fair way?- Not really»- Yeah I guess it did.» - It is strange that the lecturer says that the important thing is understanding and then a lot of memorizing equations is part of the exam. In this way, the lecturer must have failed in his attempt to create an exam which tests understanding. It is better that a formula sheet is added, such as that in the course Mechanics of Fluids.» - yes i believe so. » - Is it really nessecary with both 3 handins and a exam, would be nice if approved handins gave a pass on the course! Extremely pointless to have to learn equations by heart!!!!» - Yes» - Not very good. Many of the questions was not covered well in the literature.» - yes» - No» - No » - I felt I knew more than I had time to write down on the exam» - Yes» - no, the cours was mostly about what was preformed in the assignments and.....» - There could have been questions from the exercises so you would have seen who has done them by themselves.» - Yes» - Yes, but maby some of the questions refering to the computer tasks could be formulated in a more general way.
