- There is a small confusion here because ther is a slight overlap with the other course of this term. Maybe a more clear seperation of some part of the goals would be more helpful.» (The goals give some guidance, but could be clearer)

- It was extremely had to see what type of exam was coming up. I really thought the exam was really hard as there wasn"t enough support for studying (exercises, pre exam questions etc). I think the sample exam and the real exam had a big span in between. » (To some extent)

- I prefer having more mixture in the writing with not only text - the notes are "useless" when writing them down without the relevant figures. Maybe the writing should be in a format that fits the printable version of the power point?» (Some extent)

- Too fast, no relevance between what to know and what to find in books etc. I would have preferred SOLUTIONS on the web so that you can exercise on your own. Even it you say it is better, I never never do exercises if there is no answers. » (Small extent)
- She is going too fast, to do all the exercises for the lecture. Maybe she should select a little bit less exercises and explain them better than going so fast.» (Some extent)

Please comment on how well the lectures, tutorials and lab sessions matched and complemented each other.

- I think it is better to not include different concepts from different sources. Especially in the Creep and Fatigue. I got stuck and complicated while was reading the texts.»
- It has been quite helpful»
- I think it was good with a correct structure. Lectures then tutorials after each chapter on the lecture and the labs covered the 2 major topics,tensile and fatigue testing. Overall it was very good.»
- There was a good flow in the course. Theory of lab sessions and exercises was taught in lectures before the lab sessions and exercises.»
- Overall everything worked out fine.»
- Lectures was good, especially with the summary. This was good for further studies. Emmys lectures has potential. Some solutions sometimes had too many jump in equations etc. For example, one exercise, seeming very hard, was in reality easy one I worked on it myself... Lab sessions was relevant to course. Krste is very good.»

- exercises with answers would have been needed, early to start studying earlier. I also would have liked some questions correlating to each lecture that you can do as a help when reading the literature. » (Rather badly)

- Everything was explained clearly by Johan. Maybe one thing missing was the grades in opposition to percents aquired on the exam, but this was not problem, just maybe as the suggestion for the next year ,)» (Very well)

- Case study was interesting. The concept of just making a presentation is good. A whole project with report as well is really time consuming. This was perfect. One still has to know the subject to be able to give a smooth presentation.» (Low)

- In combination with the Failure course, this period have been very good. Since the topic of the both is similar, studying have been easier, even though the load have been high all through the period. The MPEM course seem a lot smaller though...» (High)

- the lab sessions»
- The lab sessions. Good to give extra notes on the blackboard. »
- The labs where okay.»
- Formulas given at exam. There is NO need to learn all those formulas by heart. Krste. He"s so cool. »
- The lab sessions because they give us to see what will really happen in those testing. »

19. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Well, it"s nobody"s fault of course, but it would be nice thing to see exams from previous years. As this is 1st time of this course, it"s obvious we cannot get ones! :P hopefully we will not face too big surprises during the exam (which is still ahead as for today)»
- The material taught by Ms. Emmy should be put up on the homepage as too much time is wasted in copying from the board in the little time we have»
- The case study could be graded and add a small bonus to the exam grade»
- Better exercises. Answers to tutorial problems on web and for the questions that you work on yourself with»
- Consider removing the project and dont put a whole lecture for introduction. »
- Monotonic Deformation lab Don"t tell students what a nanometer is. ,) Every engineer MUST know what it is.»
- Maybe less writing but more descriptions on the critical points during the lecture time.»

- The formulas and equations to learn for the exams should be up at the begging of the course so students won"t be wondering about this issue when they attend the tutorials and try to figure out what they need to memorize and what not.»
