- The exam tested on stuff that we had done but 18 points of the exam was about things he maybe had gone through on the lectures but not calculated and there was no excersises to do on those kind of questions. And if you wanted to do them there wasn"t enough time to do it. The parts that we had done alot didn"t came much on the exam.» (To some extent)

- It was a bit much last 4 hours straight of information, would have been better to have this spread out or something.» (Good)

- Did go on the first one, never again. He didn"t seem to want to be there.» (Poor)
- It was impossible to follow the tutorials. The teacher had a hard time expressing himself in english and his writings were hard to follow.» (Poor)
- They were really bad, I skipped them. The course must have a good tutorial teacher!» (Poor)

- For a student with a background in engineering physics many of the tasks were on a too low level, and the format of the labs was not appropriate for writing lab reports on. It is very hard to write a good report on 5 different, short subjects. The lab work was not distributed evenly between the two labs.» (Poor)
- Maybe to easy and the second lab was quite short. I think it gave a good feeling especially if you haven"t seen all the equipment. For those that had seen it I think they found it easy and boring.» (Good)

- It"s good to get extra points for your early studing, but it would be better if the assignments on the hand-ins were closer to the exam assignments.» (Good)

- I liked those two laboratories and the course teachers! They were great and helpful. I think that Arto made the kvantum part more interesting than it would be if some other teacher did lecture it. » (Good)

21. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- add some homework and do matlab simulaitions»
- Well, the exam: I think that the exam was reasonably difficult BUT it was soooooo many question that i didn"t even manage to handle the questions that i knew. I answered maybe 5 of 8 and i still had an idea of the two that were left. Hans part didn"t have only one question in his first questions, there were maybe 2-4 question in every question of the exam. 8 questions with additional question in it, in 4 hour exam is NOT enough! My grade will be much lower just because of the exam time or because of the exam length! Of course the stress did kick in when i saw 4 questions (with additional question in it) left when it only was 1 hour left. »

- The lab reports! Was hard to know if you wanted a real report or just answers... »
- The labs. The labs could be kept mainly as they are now, but with no report, or the report could be kept and the lab changed. If the report is kept, the lab tasks should be bigger, fewer and more similar in subject. There should be at least one lecture on transmission lines. (showing some slides very quickly does not count as a lecture)»

- This course was useful,but in my opinion it is better to spend the time more on labs and other practical things »
- this course is good and give me many instructions for fundermental principles of EM field, and wish there are many practical experiments with the lecture to make it more understandable.»
- I think that this course is so interesting but the grade i will get will actually not be the grade of my knowledge. My grade of the course teachers is 5+ because they made the course much more interesting and easier to understand it.»
- The course felt like it was about wave propogation but then it was some other stuff that was just taken in to fill the course, like blackbody radiation. And i dont really know what the components are that the course name states. There was lack of excersises on some parts of the course and no old exams so it was quite hard to prepare for the exam on those parts.»
- It was quite tough to finish the exam in 4h.»
- Change the labs a bit, make them a little more challenging. :)»
