- I have serious problems with the "quarter-ed" educational system at Chalmers. One example is that while the goals are set too low for a masters course in solid mechanics, not much can be done to improve the course if it will only take 6 weeks.» (No, the goals are set too low)

- There was no time for doing an error during the exam, it would maybe be more clever to have "easier numbers" in the exam assignments. The assignments is to check if we understand the methods rather than having tricky decimals number» (To some extent)
- The examination could have focused more on the fact if the students understood the central themes of the course. I felt that too much time was spent on arithmetics during the exam time. I think that a good idea would be to have the more tiresome arithmetic on the assignments, and keep the exercises on the lecture relatively simple (arithmetically speaking).» (Yes, definitely)

- Too many error-corrections. After a few weeks you could hardly know what is going on...which lecture notes have been changed, etc.» (Rather badly)

- My first impression was that I don"t like the idea of dividing a semester into two quarters at all. And with such a fundamental disagreement there is not much room for other comments.» (Poor)

- The handed out lecture notes were very good. The last week of repetition was really good, and should absolutely be kept. »
- Magnus should definitely be "preserved" to next year as he had some throat problems this year.I mean, as good the professor he is , he should be preserved to next year.»

- The elastic waves part was not good at all. Take it off the course or intruduce it properly. »

- My only complaints were the lecture about elastic waves and the fact that the final exam contained far too much complicated and cumbersome arithmetic (which I assume isn"t the meaning of the course).»
