- I found the pedagogical skills of the course assistant to be lacking, as he spoke quickly, mostly to himself or the blackboard, and didn"t really explain things to the audience. I would also like the main lecturer to write much more on the blackboard, explaining what he is doing, and not just say things. » (Some extent)

- The book is good. The provided slides is a good thing, but they"re quite hard to follow. I think the lectures would be improved by actually using the slides during the lecture. Solutions to the old exams are hard to follow, often no motivation or explanation is given. » (Large extent)

- It"s still a very interesting course, and the teacher was very knowing.» (Good)

15. What should be changed to next year?

- Maybe have an extra lecture for students that have no prior knowledge in the field where the basics are explained slowly. For example for PhD students with a background in an other field. »
- The information around the preblem sessions could be better. We students were unknowing of what the lecturer was going to cover. It would have been nice to be able to prepare before the session, and at least look at the problems that were to be solved.»
- Sure, it is a good exercise to do homeproblems, based only on information provided in lectures, but a much more efficient way of learning is to first look at solutions to similiar problems, before attacking the homeproblems. Just providing an equation in a lecture is often not enough for unserstanding. It would be good if some problems with understandable solutions were available. As it was now, a great deal of time was spent on figuring out how to attack a problem, and making elementary mistakes, something which I am sure is not the main point of the homeproblems. I think either the size of the homeproblems has to be reduced, or their implementation has to be reconsidered.»

- 6 homeworks seems alot when you do it, but you are grateful afterwords because of everything you have learned. Around homework 5 I would have said that 5 was enough, but the last homework was a bit shorter so I guess 6 is ok.»
