- Jag trodde att kursen skulle handla mer om hur man tänkte när man designade material med en viss uppsättning egenskaper. Jag tycker fortfarande att kursen som den är nu var bland de absolut intressantaste jag läst, men lärandemålen kunde kanske förklara det lite tydligare. - Lecture notes should be more specific instead having only figures. It should also contains at least important aspects of the topics so students understand quickly while reviewing the lecture notes during the study.» (Large extent)

- The requirements for the different grades are not stated at all. Not even the number of points required to pass the written exam was declared. The deadline for the project report was badly communicated.» (Very badly)
- All information was not available at the homepage, for example when the project deadline was. ALL DEADLINES HAVE TO BE DECLARED IN THE BEGINNING OF THE COURSE!!!» (Rather badly)

- Tycker att 15 sidor är alldeles för mycket för en kurs på 7,5 poäng om man jobbar själv, på två går det väl an... Fortfarande rätt mastigt, särskilt som man ska göra en poster också som man måste göra separat text till. Dessutom borde projektet definitivt vara mindre när det dessutom finns en tenta.» (Rather demanding)

- i would suggest that, if examination is replace by usual prestation, and the poject work is replace by some experimental project work i think it will be more batter.» (Oral presentations would be preferred)
- The poster presentations were kind of unfair. Some could talk about their subject without getting interupted, while I got specific questions all the time and could not presentate my project. It felt like some parts of my project were totally irrelevant to you.» (Oral presentations would be preferred)
- Students should be given a chance to give a short, uninterrupted presentation of their project before questions from the teachers. Often the questions from August and Janusz made the whole oral presentation to deal with just a few detailed questions, and students didn"t get any chance to give a overview presentation of their project.» (A combination of oral/poster presentations would be better)
- I like this part of the course as one should have to have experience of poster presentation and it worked well.» (The poster presentations worked well)

18. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Lecture notes, as mentioned earlier, it should be more specific to understand better»
- The exam, it wasn´,t comparable in difficulty with the ones published on the homepage. The last question on this years exam was very many points for a very small area of superconductors, which is not how it is supposed to work. Also it required one to calculate something from a very, very small part of the course when we neveer calculated anything before.»
- When having a writing exam, even though we had a written sheet of paper, the questions have to cover the material in the course. The facts which the question on superconductors was based on was only mentioned once in one power point-slide and only one small paragraph in the course book. This is not acceptable! The teachers are meant to help us students to achieve knowledge of the topics covered in the course. In a course which covers such a huge amount of information the teachers have to give us students some guidence in how to take in all information. Next year I advise you to either provide home assignments which covers the main parts of each subject or at least 4-5 questions on each lecture which represents what the student is supposed to at least grasp from that lecture. »
