- The workload was shifted too much towards the end of the course. Nothing to du the first weeks and then a lot at the end of the, a bit unfortunate.» (Adequate)


Part I: General Questions

5. What is your overall impression of the course? Please motivate your answer!

- A nice course with interesting discussions and good lectures and guest lectures. »
- It is good to learn about intellectual properties especially when you are working in the research area. It was a good course with lots of experience from the industry and academical world.»
- The IP and patent parts were the most intresting, most related to my work»
- It did not feel very organized, however it was interesting to hear all the lecturers experiences.»
- Overall the content of the course was good. Most interesting thing for me was about patents.»
- I liked the course. Maybe the material was a little bit scattered because of several lecturers. Information about the assignments was distributed late.»

- The overall impression is good. I was expecting a boring series of lectures in bland ethics discussions that we"ve all heard before. This course was not like that at all. Instead I got a fresh and balanced view on the topics.»

6. Was the course relevant in relation to your own research process? Why/why not?

- Yes indeed. I can relate in questions regarding the cooperation between different researchers. How important it is to write contracts etc.»
- the etichal part is not that relavant since i work with material research, polymeric fibres.»
- Yes, there could be a potential for imfringement as well as new patent opportunities.»
- Yes, as I am working on projects which are related to the companies of my supervisor. So this course encourage me to do my research on Ethics point of view and this was the question which has been raised during the lecture. »

- It has. I have learned about the importance how to store the data etc.»

- yes as the course presents all possible ways to communicate our results. Sometimes I think we tend to forget then publishing is not the only way.»

8. What would you recommend us to do differently next year, do you have suggestions for improvements?

- It is fun to get some feedback on what you have written in the assignments. I would like to have it back and commented. »

- A course book would be good. (The notes distributed are almost a course book.)»
- Some lecturers had clearly political opinions and goals, this is fine. However, these opinions where emphasised a little to much. First state the facts, then speak your opinions. »
- Give suggestions of literature in connection with the home assignments, the only sources we were our own recollections of lecures. Follow up home assignments with seminars in smaller groups. The lecture that was cancelled could have been announced more clearly.»
- Start with written assignments earlier and give some feedback.»
- I think you need some more information for the assignment. The session we had after it would be better to have before it instead»
- Stay on schedule. The course accidentally got a one-week shift and that made planning a hassle.»
- Study different cases in groups and then discuss the cases in front of the class with a help of a powerpoint presentation, could be a good exercise. »

9. What was your general impression of the administration of the course?

- The administration was good!»

- It was not clear who to contact with questions as we got mails from many different persons. When asking questions by mail, we got no answer.»
- It was good but some assignments were given too late.»
- Could be improved, was a bit unclear regarding the assignemnets. Deadlines were changed etc.»
- Interesting!! Much of new and important information. However, 3 hours of listening can be hard some time - even if it is interesting »

- I think all lecture speakers did a good job. According the cases, I think the first one was quit difficult but you learned a lot during the writing. »


Part II: Lectures, Exercises and Assignments

12. The lectures by Ulf Petrusson

- Interesting and fun to hear stories from the "real world". »

- Very interesting and useful with good examples of how IP issues come into play in different situations. There was not much evolution along the course and the different lectures felt quite similar.»
