- I think the examiner has been really generous with us phd students (or at least with me), I think I should have known more to fully deserve my pass.
Maybe a "presentation-oriented" exam has to be extended by including one question about the course program, in order to force the student to dig a little bit better than I did in the course program before attending the exam.» (To some extent)
- My examination was a prepared talk based on literature which was not part of the course syllabus. The literature was chosen by me. An advantage of this method is that I can pick a topic relevant to my research. This helps me see how the course material relates to topics in my field. A disadvantage is that this method does not test or reflect much on the material in the course syllabus.» (To some extent)

Genomsnitt: 3.28 - The lecturer went through all the material in great detail. It was thus clear from the slides what was important in the course syllabus. However, in my opinion, the lecturer went into too much detail. Listening to the lecturer was like listening to a course book or research paper being read out loud. The lecturer thus spends too much effort on technicalities in proofs instead of mediating insight and intuition, and giving a clear overview. "Proof ideas", for instance, are usually sufficient. They help convince the crowd that a lemma or theorem is true.» (To some extent)

13. What should definitely be changed to next year?- In the lectures, the order of presentation is often from abstract to concrete. This should be reversed: examples should be presented before the general case.»
- "changed" is the wrong word, there are few bits here and there that maybe could be tweaked or discussed»
- *It would be useful to publish a list of topics of projects on the webpage.»
- Concrete literature behind each lecture (page X-Y of book/paper Z), listed on course website before each lecture.
Spend more time on insight and intuition in lectures, and less time on proof technicalities.»
