- The lectures (I exclude here the tutorials) are basically a reading of the slides and therefore of little help for learning purposes.» (Small extent)
- The class was given in a slow manner and it was difficult to get the idea at the end.» (Some extent)

- Regarding the home assignments, almost all information had to be taken from Hoecht"s "Optics" instead of the course text book.» (Some extent)
- The Saleh and Teich book is good. There were many examples that were taken from other books and they should be included in the course literature too as optional literature.» (Large extent)
- The course book by Saleh-Teich is easy to read and understand.» (Large extent)

- The lecturer encouraged us to ask for help. However, he seldom answered our questions once we asked them. » (Rather poor)

- The homeassignment were too large for the available time that we had for them to be delivered. 4 problems per week seems like a lot. Instead of having several short problems one or two large problems per week would be better.» (High)
- There were too many home assignments. The number was not the problem but the fact that they had very little to do with what we had reviewed in class. It was much more about reading through Hoecht looking for the exact equation than applying what had been taught in class. » (High)

- My general impression about this course is that the teacher puts extremely little effort in it, despite it is clearly a demanding one and that fact is reflected in the exam. For example, the teacher is of little help in the home assignments, as he simply uses previous years" and it is the assistant who corrects them, meaning that the teacher seems not to have a clue about the questions that he asks us. » (Poor)

14. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- Giving the slides before the class was good. The lab was very fun and good.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Provide old exams a couple of weeks before the exam would be very appreciated.»
- The home assignments were extremely difficult. It was almost impossible to solve them with Saleh Teich. I used Hecht. Moreover there were a lot of problems per home assignment. Most of these problems were not mentioned in the lectures at all.»
- More clear and well-organized home assignment»
- Add more tutorials, use more the whiteboard instead of just reading the slides, do not just re-use past years" home assignments or, if you do, at least read them to know what they are about.»

16. Additional comments

- Maybe the intention is to broaden the knowledge with the HA:s, otherwise some questions could be changed to better fit into to "ordinary" problems in the course. Since a lot of time is spent on the HA:s I think it is important they give "relevant" knowledge.»
