- I think that should be mentioned which were the parts of the book (theory) that should be prepared for the exam. I was not attending the lectures this year (2011) so I found it kind of difficult to figure out which parts are included and which not only by using the teacher"s notes.» (Rather well)

- We didn"t have mid quarter exam or homework to give back, so wasn"t demanding during the period. But at the end had a huge amount of work for the final exam.» (Demanding)

- The lecture notes have the potential to actually truly support the learning, currently they are rather limited and almost useless if you do not have access to the textbook. The lecture notes should cover the Lectures, not the reading material. The reading material covers itself, and if needed a shorter summary of the book could be created.» (good to have them)

- The TA is simply copying the solved answers on the board. Anyway he posts the solutions in home page. Better he try to discuss the problem statements and approaches on board. this will be very much helpful.» (Good)

15. Which parts of the course did you find difficult?- The beginning.»
- The shear amount of material. Too much to know everything well, which should be the objective of such a practically oriented mathematics course. Better to focus on the "core concepts" like ANOVA and maybe not cover two-way different sample sizes, since IF this is the case, this information can be found.»
- Chapter 8 & 9. Theoretically we can do the problems with the formulas given. But very difficult to analyse the problem statements. Please add some more information to analyse the problem statements in detail.»

Genomsnitt: 3.5 - As is the case usually the course focuses heavily on the later chapters. In a different type of course this is ok. But in this course the topics are somewhat disjoint and a good understanding of the basics was not reflected in the exam.» (fair)

- The lecture notes, and a summary of the book/statistical tests that are important for the purpose of the course.»
- Please explain the example problem statements and add why we are going to this approach rather than other way around. This will help us to improve the concepts.»
- Interesting course, but should be more work to give back during the period, like a mid quarter exam.»
- I have one comment regarding the grading, I want to mention that up to this moment I have not got the result of the exam, so I am not biased or anything.
I rememeber last year that the teacher said about being a bit more strict in the correction for the GU students because of the way that we get the grades (G,VG) while the Chalmer student have (1-5), but the GU student do not have the right to have an other examination for improving the grade, while the Chalmer students have that right!»
- The material covered was very much appreciated and is probably the least everyone should know about the subject, but the questions on the exam and during exercises could be much more demanding. This course was probably the second easiest so far. That"s too bad considering all the material covered was new. This could have been a great course but it feels like just another mandatory course aimed towards people not interested in statistical inference. It could have been replaced with a more demanding course for those enrolled in MPENM with the mathematical statistics track.»
