Genomsnitt: 2.27 - Unfortunately, the other course (Applied Signal Processing) that was recommended by the S2 department for us Control students, was too time consuming with too many fruitless irrelevant projects and unfortunately it wasn"t relevant to our field of study, while it was supposed to be something useful! I think it was totally related to communication engineering and was irrelevant to our program. So we really didn"t have enough time to spend on one of our most important courses (Digital Control). » (At most 15 hours/week)

- Jag har läst kemiteknik här på Chalmers och jag känner inte att jag haft tillräckliga förkunskaper för denna kurs. Vi har bara läst en grundläggande kurs i reglerteknik och har t.ex aldrig hört talas om fouriertransformer tidigare, vilket innebär att myckat av den tid jag lagt på kursen har gått åt till att försöka förstå de grundläggande sakerna» (No, the goals are set too high)

- How can you make an exam where every exercise is harder than any exercice have been during the course including both the tutorials and the lectures?» (No, not at all)
- The exam was made by another teacher which has nothing to do with the exam at all. 10 % of the exam was rekognizeable from class and the book. The exam also contained of moments that was not telled by the goals.» (No, not at all)

- The exam was crazy to but it blunt. Very hard, and some parts weren"t even mentioned in the book or the slides (coupling, worth 3p!)
The pointsystem with low points and zero points when you do womething wrong makes it extra hard.» (To some extent)

- The course book takes up different things than the teacher talks about. The course book is hard to read because of lack of structure and examples. The assignments in the book is impossible to identify with the exam assignments.» (Small extent)
- The course literature could be chosen among the other very famous world wide texts. This book was to a large extent vague in some parts as the student cannot understand what"s going on in that part, namely, the author has said something out of the blue without saying anything about its origin or its proof. Furtheremore, this course should be more mathematical based specially in stability issues. I have to say that this text is not very useful to be used as a course text.» (Some extent)

- Try to move the consultation time. I needed my lunch break on wednesdays before four hours of digital control.» (Rather poor)

- Att bara ha hjälptid på onsdag lunch, precis innan vi har fyra timmars lektion, känns inte som särskillt välplanerat. Med tanke på arbetsbördan i den här kursen hade det varit till stor hjälp att ha räknestugor eller någonting liknande då man kunde få sitta i en sal och räkna med tillgång till en lärare som kunde svara på frågor. På så sätt skulle man slippa sitta overksam i korridoren och vänta på sin tur, samtidigt som jag tror att väldigt många fler skulle söka lärarhjälp och på så sätt lära sig kursen bättre.» (Rather poor)

- Many solved examples on the tutorials and in the lecture. A relaxed atmosphere in the lectures. I really like the "acting" by the blackboard.»

The exam shouldn"t be as tough, coupling shouldn"t be on the exam, or it should had been in the slides! If you weren"t on that specific lecture, you couldn"t stand a chance.

- Lärarledda räkneövningar behövs. Laborationen kändes inte särskillt givande och inlämningsuppgiften inför labben var katastrofalt dålig. Vi la över en veckas arbete, varenda kväll, på att försöka få den färdig, vilket innebar att vi kom väldigt långt efter med resten. Dessutom gicks den inte igenom ordentligt på labbtillfället.»

16. Additional comments- Very expensive course litterature. It was also of very poor quality. Finding new course literature should be a priority.»
- It should be strictly forbidden that the examinator doesnt make the exam. Introducing a new teacher who does the exam without informating the students is outrageous. Switch teacher for next year. The teacher didnt know his subject or the course plan and calculated assignments wrongly every lesson.»
- i would suggest that the lecturer prepare the classes with more advance so he can be sure the information presented does not have any error»
