Genomsnitt: 1.6 - First of all, that course is completely irrelevant to our entire study. When we look at all professional maritime courses around the world, we can see that they teach shipping finance instead of cost accounting. Basic accounting knowledge can be given under shipping finance as well. How many of reputable shipping and maritime schools give only Cost Accounting course? Isnt there any teacher at Chalmers to give shipping finance course? One can say that accounting is necessary in practice when working at a company. Ok, yes we need cost accounting but marketing, business management, finance etc. are also necessary that we need to learn. Why dont we take those courses as well? With this course, the entire program looks like a period of study which is established by various courses selected randomly. The teacher told us that this course is given with the advise of a private shipping company in Sweden. Yes, I agree that we always need to collaborate with private companies but they shouldnt be only party to get some advise. There are many famous professional shipping institutions who know the sector very well such as Instituted of Chartered Shipbrokers, ASBA, World Maritime School etc. Why not them? Why not them if we need to get some external advise? why only a private shipping company? in my opinion, This course should be considered again by the program responsibles.» (Poor)

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?- The book.
-Time was too short to cover the whole book. If the book is to be kept, some necessary assesment of the what is to be covered needs to be done. Student need quality not quantity.
-Had a rough time trying to relate the books content with shipping.

- The minus point in the exam. No point of trying, to affraid of being failed»
16. Additional comments- -Heavy and time consuming calculations, which teacher and student should have gone through together. Student have the possibility of reading theory on their own but calculations is another case. Teacher should prioritize that. »
- Change the Logistics and the Economics to be away from each other. I mean, move them so that the courses are at different times. Too hard to suddenly start with two tough courses just before the summer. Takes too much time and is impossible to get good grades if You work at the same time.»
