- We spent a lot of time for doing the time consuming assignments of this course, but at the end we have many theoretical misunderstandings about the course contents. I can say that this course was a MATLAB programming exercise, but not material mechanics. Most of the students were finding the stupid programming errors during the week instead of contemplating the course subjects. » (Around 30 hours/week)

- I always have to study the course material in my own tempo, otherwise I"m always lost. Therefore I seldom feel that I benefit from attending lectures, especially in a course with course material so heavy.» (0%)

- I found the level of abstraction too high, you did not at all understand much of the context during the lectures unless you had read the compendium carefully before, and you had not the time to do so. Besides, lectures at Monday morning and Friday afternoon... it doesn"t get any worse. And the classroom (VD) is really really bad for teaching. » (Small extent)

- The text book was only good for finding the equations and parameters to put in the MATLAB programs, but not good for showing the meanings of the course concepts. Also it doesn"t have any problems or exercise about the course. (but our assignments filled this problem)» (Some extent)
- The lecture notes were very nice to have, and they were easier to read than the Primer.» (Large extent)
- The course literature and, to some extent, the lecture notes were the source of all of my learning. But the lecture notes could sometimes be unbearably confusing, for example when kappa was being used to denote one thing in one lecture note chapter and another thing in another lecture note chapter or in the course literature.» (Great extent)

- The handouts of the course (lecture notes) was really terrible, since it didn"t have enough detail about most of the concepts, and just we saw a lot of parameters and equations without enough detail about them. At the end of each lecture note there were always some graphs about the chapter, but with very little discussion about them. Instead there were the procedure to get the figures in MATHEMATICA.» (Rather badly)
- The fact that Ragnar changed the examination conditions every now and then made it hard to plan the work, and know what to concentrate on. During almost the whole course we were promised to be able to use the course literature on the exam, (the primer), which made us print it out and thereby wasting our own printing quota for no use, since the examination aids where changed in the last minute. » (Rather badly)
- We had to wait long for the correction of computer assignment 2 but to me that was no big deal.» (Rather well)

- We had good opportunities for asking questions, but the answers we got in return were often quite poor. Landervik seldom knew how the code in the assignments were written and what kind of problems that could pop up during the coding. I would have been good if he had done the assignments himself.» (Rather good)
- I sometimes missed the opportunity to ask an instructor being present in the computer room but that is not very important.» (Rather good)

- The computer assignments were quite time demanding (assignments 2,3,4).» (Adequate)
- Writing 5 full detailed reports (which were to be not only passed, but graded) was very tiresome and time consuming. Since one could not reach many points above a passing grade it might be just as good as to make them mandatory with just a passing grade, and make the final grade for 4,5 depend on the exam.» (High)
- The course load was high, because we were always searching the parameters to put in the MATLAB code and see what will happen at the end. but I think that it was not enough time to understand the meanings of these parameters in the program. We were always too busy during the quarter with debugging the MATLAB program for the assignment of the week, but we didn"t have time for studying. I think that if there were three MATLAB programming assignments instead of five computer assignments, it was better. Instead of the omitted ones, it was better to have assignments about the meanings (without programming)» (High)

- 5 assignments of this course and one very very very big assignment of the Rigid Body Dynamics course (which was mandatory for non-fluid students) filled all my time.» (High)

- Inlämningsuppgifterna blev lite mycket "skriv in detta i MATLAB och sitt och debugga matlab-koden i 10 timmar". Mer fokusering på förståelse för modellerna och deras egenskaper genom undersökning, skulle ge mer kunskap i ämnet. Något i stil med: Vad gör den här programraden? Vilken del i modellen är ansvarig för detta beteendet?»
- The variable k, just use eps^v. I actually felt a bit lost at all the notation from start. _e for absolute value isn"t needed either i think.»
- Maybe the assignment questions should be more focused on checking if the students understand the theory. »
- Number of assignments, and the extent of these. But, with these assignments, and the dugga, I do not think you need an exam.»

- The way the lessons are done. Use the black board instead of using the computer all the time. Don"t use Mathematica if it isn"t within the course goal to learn it. No student I talked to understood anything from all the examples done in Mathematica.»
- Constructing the constitutive drivers in CA2 and CA3 and finally getting it to work took many, many hours. One idea is to give detailed information on how to do this, the instructions offered in the course literature were extremely hard to follow. I always seek a thorough understanding of the concepts of the courses I take. In that respect, I felt the course literature lacked much in explaining the different models and equations in plain text. One example: one couldn"t get a clear understanding of what back stress and drag stress essentially was, it was never explained, alpha and kappa were just thrown in.»

- It is better to see some more practical engineering problems in this course. We were very abstract about the material behavior.»
- All mathematical books in the world is of no use if haven"t understood the basics of + and -. You have to be very clear about what notations you use and explain the extensively if these are new to the students, even if it wasn"t your plan from the beginning. It doesn"t solve itself.»
