- The GPRSim problems are just silly. Understanding and using the simulator takes more time than solving the problems. » (Some extent)

- in many questions we were asked for too detailed answers, it is very unlikely that in real-life we will have to use this knowledge without double check with a book, so it is a waste of effort to memorize all the formulas, the outcome from the course should be to learn how to use them. » (Somewhat understandable)

15. Is there anything you think should be changed until next year?

- Personally I would have liked to learn how neural networks are used in robotics and skip the image processing (though the IP was fun). »

- Given the workload and the fact that the course runs over two quarters the 7.5 hp might be abit low. But i still like my courses to be hard and extensive so i guess it is ok»
- The course seems to give an overview of a lot of topics but no deep insight. The home problems sometimes focused on the mathematical details of simple concepts, and while that was helpful I felt that it wasn"t enough to make this course live up to what I thought it would be»

17. Which areas do you think should be covered in more (or less) depth?

Topics covered: Autonomous robots, kinematics and dynamics, animal behavior, robotic behaviors (exploration, navigation and localization),
human-robot interaction, utility, decision-making

- As I said, maybe the human robot-interaction could have been skipped, it is very shallow anyway. Though fun and interesting.»

- The course could be more focused towards animal behaviors contra robotic behaviors with decision making and the concept of utility. The image processing part could be removed since it is such a huge topic and there are separate course in this field. Personally I could have seen that the kinematics and dynamics part could be put as prerequests for the course.»

- I think kinematics and dynamics was given much more attention that it deserved, while real issues related to the design of robotic brains were somewhat skimmed through with no or little detail (animal behavior, HRI). I would"ve preferred a more exploratory approach to these last topics, even if that meant replacing the exam with a project or more assignments, but at least something that lets us learn and get creative in these areas. All we did was somewhat direct applications»
