- As a student with electrical engineering background, most of the topics that were not covered in the introductory course were completely new, such as fluid dynamics and heat transfer. These are quite hard to get a proper grasp of from this course alone. From a credit point of view it seemed reasonable with the right background.» (No, the goals are set too high)

- The exam seemed more intent on testing our ability to memorize example problem than to test our understanding of the course material.» (No, not at all)
- According to the checklist for the exam, we had to learn a lot of different things and I got a bit confused. The exam was easier than I though but since we had to learn so much, I thing I miss a lot, even simple things. A lighter checklist could be good (more focused on the essential for the exam)» (To some extent)
- The goals seem to demand more than the examination showed. At first, I thought the goals were too high, so I work really a lot. But finally the exam came, and it was pretty easy compared to what I would have expected.» (To some extent)

The teaching method was based on rather detailed lectures notes that the students were asked to read prior to each lecture and on lectures pointing out the main points of the lecture notes. How did this method work for you?

- The material is very detailed and equation intense, and thus it takes quite some time to prepare properly. The method as a concept is good though. Maybe there could be some sort of summary one can read at the end of the chapters if there isn"t time to read the whole chapter before a lecture?» (Rather badly)

- It was hard to solve the tutorials without the lecture note. Since the exam was without lecture notes it was hard to understand the difficult level on exam questions. The tutorials was a good way to understand the course.» (Rather useful)
- But the questions given during the exercises where usually a bit to complex or long. Better if they where more on the level of the exam questions. » (Very much useful)

- Sadly I feel that what we were supposed to do was to REMEMBER the equations and methods rather than learning how to use them. This was also what the examination tested.» (Fair)

- The exam. It is extremely hard to learn all things by heart. The setup with one theoretical and one problem solving part was good, but it would have been nice with a formula sheet (for the problem solving part)»
- I would have like more exercises that I could have solved on my own. During this course there were only the tutorial which had already been solved by the tutors.»
- the exam was maybe too easy. Or the overall course too complicated. But the lectures seemed a lot more complex than the exam. So maybe : make the exam more difficult or make the lectures easier.»
