Genomsnitt: 2.6 - Litteraturen är väldigt tung! Det är upprepningar på upprepningar ibland och det saknas övningar för att uppmana eleven att läsa litteraturen. Det är också svårt första gången man läser litteraturen, pga av det extremt generellt formulerade kursmålet att bedöma av vilken vikt vissa delar av litteraturen har. Mycket kändes som fördjupningsmaterial.» (Some extent)

- Basically some beginners version of the materials selection course. Works as an introduction but for those who have taken mat. select. it doesn"t give much.» (Adequate)

Genomsnitt: 3.8 - The course is based on learning a lot of details rather than understanding mechanisms and so it takes time to take in the course material. This isn"t a bad thing, but it"s worth keeping it in mind. The report to the rheologi/extrusion lab was very time consuming and perhaps a bit to heavy. » (High)

- One of the labs with extrusion and injection took too long time and energy to do. The instructions for the report was unclear and was possible to put another meaning than it was meant to. The lab PM was not found on the homepage and we understand why you have to change the course» (Too high)

Genomsnitt: 3.4 - Personally I feel that I have learnt a lot about the different materials in the course, but I don"t quite see the connection to light weight design. The connection to light w.. design just felt like a short version of materials selection, Ashby style. » (Adequate)

18. What should definitely be changed to next year?- the way that the labs works»
- Change the polymer part into focusing more on designing with polymers. Perhaps a design project? I am not at all interested in rheology and think that manufacturing is only interesting from design point of view. I felt that rheology and extrusion lab had very little with the course to do. Perhaps interesting to some extent and well performed but to much work went into lab report and I don"t feel that it has helped me in choosing polymers for light weight design. »
- I think that maybe some of the course litterature should be reviewed in the metal part.
I think that lab 1 is a bit heavy purely time wise due to that it demands a very big knowledge of excel/matlab to be possible to do. A guide of how to do some of the necessary steps (with the graphs) in excel would probably help a lot.»

19. Are there overlaps with other courses and, if so, please point these out and evaluate whether or not the overlaps were negative.- yes the polymers in material science course from second grade. »
- For those studying the materials master there is quite an overlap especially considering the "analysis of two materials". »

- It felt like the workload became quite high with all side projects, labs etc and that as a result one was forced to do some of it rather sloppy»
- I know this course will be redone. It was supricing with the workload was so big with both the projects and the lab. to much no time to study the subject.»
