- Not much consideration was taken to students from different background than material engineers. You cant just take for granted that those students with another background know the meaning of all the technical terms and theory that was introduced. To be honest most of it was new, so I had no chance to follow the lectures well.» (High)

- In general I think that it has been a good course»
- The tool steel heat treatment practicals. The exercises are useful for understanding too.»

- The adjunct proffesor who taught Stainless Steel was so well-read, knowledgable and articulate. Maybe you can invite him over more and make better use of him.»

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- course book. It was difficult to find the literature on the web.»
- I think that the heat treatment exercises were really interesting, but it should be nice to spend more time in class and discuss them in small groups but also in a common class. »
- It would be appreciable if there were less classes two weeks before exams :)»
- Practical classes should be more practical than theoritical. Some labs need to be added to this course in order for it to provide students with a hands-on experience on what they study.»
- Better information for students from different background. In my opinion, one should AT LEAST suggest a introductory/basic textbook that covers most of the material that is needed to follow the course. Just refering to ASM isnt going to work, its too time consuming to look up every little thing you havent heard of before and at the same time try to keep up with the 2 courses...»
- Övningarna vi fick utdelat. Borde kunna göras mer nyttigare. Vad för frågor kan man ställas inför som materialexpert.»

- Examination was totally fair but unexpectable in comparison with those we studied during Quarter. Students should have the awareness on examination in advanced much much clearer than what we had.»

- I think the Oxidation part should be removed from the course content. Since it is a rough subject dealing mainly with kinetics and thermodynamics, it requires more time and concentration and could be a seperated subject in other courses like thermodynamic or corrosion. In my opinion, when it comes to the oxidation of metals, to let students know only about Elingham-Richardson diagram and its application, that would be enough. »

17. How did you appreciate the practical class on JMatPro?

- It was very good!»
- I think that it has been very useful and it helped very much to understand important concepts»

18. How did you evaluate the practical class on heat treatment of steel?

- It was interesting but there were too many questions and some of them were confused and difficult to answer in that time.»

- It was not a real practical class in the real sense of the word. Perhaps the time frame restricted you from having labs on this subject but heat treatment needs some hands-on experience to be understood. »
