- But the tasks on the exam required too much "unnecesary" work to evaluate whether or not u have understood a particular course-part. As a result i think most people that took the exam felt that they didnt have time to even finish all tasks. - I liked the exam. I thought it tested all parts of the syllabus. I especially liked the question about the ER-diagram, to find what was wrong, I thought that was a really good way of testing the understanding for ER-diagrams.» (Yes, definitely)

- Graham (Lectures and labs): Great!!
Torbjörn (Tutorials and labs): small extent, he doesn"t seem very enthusiastic about the subject.
Phu (Tutorials and labs): small extent, more effort spent on communication issues than on understanding the topic/problem» (Some extent)
- Much of the time spent on the labs was waiting in line to ask a question. Other students can answer some things. There"s a lot of people doing this course that you don"t know, in previous courses most students have known eachother and so it"s been easy helping eachother when stuck. Don"t know how how well all the other students know eachother but my guess is that people will ask a teacher first if they don"t know eachother. Conclusion: need more teachers during the labs.» (Some extent)

- This book is by far the worse course literature i have ever had in 2½, years as a student in Chalmers. The example are so simple that it"s no idea to look at them. It would help sometimes to get more advanced examples. Even so, not many of the example were of any help since we practised on Oracle and the syntax differs from the one in the course book. Change book, get one wich is oracle friendly instead..» (Small extent)

Genomsnitt: 3.32 - Sometimes we could not log in. We could not resubmit files and it was very rigid when the deadline had been passed. Why not use the system in the StudentPortal instead?
The Oracle system did not work at all. First we did not have enough priviliges, and no one answered our e-mails or our phone calls. Thus we spent a long time not being able to do the assignment. Then, finally 24 hours before deadline, we got a new account... Thus we didn"t have enough time to do the assignment.
On the final task the database collapsed, and before that it was slow to respond and behaved strangely. I ended up installing an Oracle database on my own computer to be able to work. Oracle doesn"t support auto increment and I don"t like that. I want to use unique numbers for all my relations, not to use strings for keys, thus I much prefer MySQL.» (Very badly)
- Only problem here is that my grader didnt really correct my task2 of the labassignment, he just accepted it even thou it wasnt really done. Eventually i got it done ofcourse since it was needed for task3.» (Rather well)

- Since MySQL is the most widely used DBMS on the web (at least by students using "cheaper" web hotels, I guess) you should maybe consider to change from Oracle to MySQL.»

- I did not think that the exam would be as difficult as it was. There were actually too many questions to answer for 4 hours.»
- Jag tycker kursen var totalt värdelös, innan kursen började såg jag fram emot den, men det ändrades snabbt.
*Labbsalarna var alltid överfulla, luften var helt värdelös och väldigt svårt att få hjälp under dessa lektioner
*"Programming Assignment" som vi fick hade en fullständigt katastrofalt dålig beskrivning, vissa tekniska krav som var obligatoriska var väldigt svåra att tolka och framgick väldigt dåligt ur texten.
*Jag tycker även att inlämningsuppgiften fick alldeles för stor fokus, alternativt felaktig balans mellan den och tentamen, om ändå allt som var relaterat till inlämningsuppgiften kom med på tentamen, varför ska då inlämningsuppgiften vara obligatorisk?
*Föreläsningarna stämde inte överens med tentamen, det borde föreläsas mer i tekniska detaljer/implementationer, föreläsningarna var alldeles för abstrakta.
*Min personliga åsikt är att tentamen också var en ren katastrof. Jag satt tiden ut, och hann ändå inte med alla uppgifter, detta har ALDRIG nånsin hänt mig förut, salen jag satt i och skrev tentan var det max 2-3 personer som gick innan tiden var slut, så uppenbarligen var det inte bara jag som hade tidsbrist.
Jag skulle kunna fortsätta skriva mycket mycket mer, men avslutar bara med att säga att detta var den sämsta kursen jag har läst.»

- On the other hand, if many students already are using MySQL (often together with php), and probably sooner or later will get in touch with MSSQL (probably together with ASP.NET), it could be good to keep using Oracle to achieve a wider perspective...?»
