- Please improve your lectures, what what are we going to talk about? to why should I care? How does this relate to the rest of the course? Make clear distinctions between the different subjects (visually) & make clear conclusions at the end of a subject. » (Very poor)
- I actually think that the pace of the lecturers are to slow, to much talk before you get started on the topic.» (Poor)
- hard to keep up due to bad powerpoints» (Poor)
- The slides could be more clear. » (OK)
- The slides were a little hard to follow. It was difficult to understand how the concepts were linked. Magnus showed some good slides at the closing lecture that would have been nice to have from the beginning.» (OK)
- Really lots of papers to read, maybe a bit too much. References in the lecture to different papers are very helpful to connecting contents also in regard to the take home exam. » (OK)
- The connection between slides could be more clear. i.e. clarify what was headings and subchapters. Images so we could follow were in a process would have been very good.» (OK)
- Name: Sofie Larsson» (Good)
- Interesting topics, but sometimes too many slides.» (Good)
- In the beginning it is quite hard sometimes to see the purpose with the course. However, in the end when understanding is created of the complexity I think this is one of the best courses at Chalmers so far.» (Good)
- Andreas Fredriksson» (Good)
- Really nice with the small discussion assignment during class hours. That yield a good opportuninty to make sure that one understands the concepts.» (Good)
- sometimes too drift away» (Good)
- I think there were TOO MANY readings and unfortunatelly I think most of them, although interesting, not necessary, and since I couldn"t read them all sometimes I got lost in some themes...» (Good)
- Ola Hofgren, 850409-4890» (Good)
- I did not learn as much as I could. I was not prepared to start an intense course like this.» (Good)
- I really learned a lot, probably it will be helpfull to encourage students to read earlier.» (Good)
- Lecturers were very good, but quite confusing.. too much concepts in few time» (Very good)
- Sometime I fell like the content per lecture is really too much. But I understand that the overall content of this course is pretty much as well.» (Very good)

9. Too little attention was paid to?

- Innovation system, which is an intersting topic in EOI.»
- The read articles, it would have been intresting with one or two literature seminare in two major concept areas.»
- to the economical aspect and maybe links to the political systems»
- Summarizing it all, getting it into some sort of framework»
- Linking the concepts early in the course.»
- The RBV/KBV?»
- the articles. If I am supposed to read that many articles to each lecture, I would like to see those articles being discussed in class.»
- summing up, making it all hang together»
- The relation between what was told, I often wondered why I should care?»
- Explaning the whole picture, like in the last lecture.»
- Basic theories on economic progress ideas. For example I would glad to attend a lecture on Schumpeter"s or Keynes" viewpoints.»
- indusrial transformation»
- To connect all the concept like you did in the last lecture»
- CCC... and there was a question in the exam... and the reading was very difficult to understand»
- The book»
- overall structure of the course (only in final lecture)»
- How to make slides, because both of the projects were based on slides.»

10. Too much attention was paid to?

- market signals»
- Maybe to the presentation of different concepts, I think that some content in the last lecture can be used earlier as it can state how the connections are seen. Or that the picture with the "arrow" in the last lecture can be developed into a framework that can be used from the start to seen how different concepts build upon each other»
- Nothing»
- Indepht examples & explanation of a concept, for this reason I was lost quite often »
- Examples from same industries every time. Games mining etc.»
- Value creation»
- The take home exam»
- i don"t know»
-

11. What other comments or recommendations would you make for the future?

- I prefer to have project II because it reflect what I learnt from this class»
- This course covered a lot of aspects in innovation, information is broad. Maybe it"s better select several most important topics and deep into it. Others could be introduced and learnt after course.»
- I would have used less slides on the lectures and decreased number of articles for reading.»
- Maybe divide the home exam into two parts or hand-ins. One could be put earlier because it can then early teach the student how one is supposed to think in a EOI-way»
- I think that this course really opens your eyes for the subject. The fact that it is sometimes hard to grasp make you wanna learn even more. Probably this course, if any, should need 15 hp. »
- Encourage some kind of obligatory literature seminar early to make people read early.»
- The home exam was very good and i learned a lot (most...) the last week of the course. Perhaps it would be possible to have smaller hand-ins earlier in the course instead of collecting everything in the end? That would even out the work load and get students to start reflecting early on, rather than just reading...»
- a larger course»
- That both project 1 and 2 should be graded. They should also preferably constitute a larger part of the total grade, for instance 40 percent.»
- I didn"t understand half of what was being said or what the presentations were about, this is why I skipped some lectures at the end or left half-way. My understanding of the english language is good, that was not a reason why I didn"t understand what was being said. »
- Keep the ind. feedback on presentation technique, very good!»
- I thought the take home exam was good, very good questions, difficult in determining what path to start write from. Although I felt that the exam was quite large. A lot of words on each question and I hadn"t expected it to take so long to write the thing. I took me six days straight just to write it. Thus I think it would be better to have fewer words on each question to ease the work load a bit, which in turn hopefully could lead to better quality on the exams»
- Keep on postponing 8:00hrs lecture to 9:00hrs!»
- I would have prefered less articles, even if I read all the articles before the home exam, I can"t see that it is normal to sit 16 hours for one week to do an exam. »
- Since there are a lot of articles it would be great if there were some literature seminars where students could discuss 4-5 articles 1 h evrey week»
- The last lecture was very helpful. Only then I realized how everything is connected and how all the concepts build up to economic growth (graphic with the arrow). Maybe it would be helpful to have this outline in the beginning also. Although the students would not get it entirely, I think it is a good overall motivation for the different concepts. »
- Less information in the slides»
- A classification on the papers in the sense of which importance they have for the learning. »
- To do the take home exam in pairs»
- good contect, but presented in a too messy way »
- what about case studies? .. what was the situation, the context, the decision, the consecuences.»
- I liked the Youtube- videos that showed the innovation....»
- It will be good to have a small grading of the first project, so people can put more effort on it.»

Matrisfråga

- The leacturer could make most of information sense and easy (sometimes, not so easy) to understand in a good structure.»
- In other words I learnt quite much.»
- I liked the way you related every concept :)»
- 1. I think that you could have given an historical review of the different ways of viewing economic progress, what neo-classism is and how the different views evolved from its predecessors. 2. "Understand and characterise different types of innovation*" - I think that we got a lot from the MDP-course that were related to this subjects and not sloe from this course. »
- Maybe it would be helpful to explain in advanced what does the term "characterise" means, because it can create confussion and it is used alot of times. :)»

- Yes but it was not always that clearly explained how all the concepts and levels of ecnomy are realated to each other. - I think it was HARD. BUT the hardest thing was to understand what you really was asking for. Try to make the questions more straight forward. The question 1b) about "relating and defining concepts" was just weird in how it was formulated? Just write that we should look at GMCs move from a strategic perspective and that we should use course litterature to do it.» (I agree)
- Hard to know how to write and how to start» (I agree)
- Even though the amount of words was the MAXIMUM, this kind of puss you to get to that number... and since there were too many words, and most of the questions could have been explained with half of them, this kind of made me repeat and talk about the same in the same question in order to reach the amount of words.» (I agree)
- Specially question 3, it was very difficult to understand what was even been asked.» (I agree)

- Project 2 made me know much more things in one industry really. And it made me know many friends too.» (I fully agree)
- liked the way of presenting with power point» (I fully agree)
- It was a great project. I learned a lot when working and discussing in the group and it was good the we all had to present. I also really liked the format of the hand-in here and it might be a sugesstion to other courses as well. Because when you make the slides, you really have to think about what the important parts are and you learn a lot through this.» (I fully agree)
- But perhaps the presentation should be at least valued for some points to increase motivation to present as good as possible.» (I fully agree)

- Magnus, this is veronica gonzalez.. i appreciate if you consider my answer for the extra points :)»
- I think this is too much work for starting a new programme, 2 projects, take home exam, articles, course book and 8 hours lecture per week. I couldn"t read all articles according to lectures.maybe decreasing work helpful for next year for getting everything in advance.»
- It might be good if you can use more the formative assessment in this course. Sometimes take home exam is extremely stressful. Nattawut ARD-PARU»
- As the course contents were broad and multi-level, I could understand the difficulty in explaining them. One suggestion is that review or discussion about literatures are necessary. For example, literuate seminar. »
- during the presentations of project II questions should be asked before evaluating presentations skills, the evaluation should be done as a group exercise instead of filling in forms.»
- I think that the home exam can even be put earlier and maybe given some more time. Or it could be devided into two parts. This is because it really makes one learn the different concepts and relations.»

- As I cannot find any other field which seems suitable to insert my name I will add it here. Jan Wickenberg was able to create individual tokens for each student, which might be a solution. Robert Fischer»

- The discussions that I had during the exam were very good for the understanding. However, I don´,t see that there is a necessarily for our understanding to evolve the last week. It should be much better to distribute the exam questions for 4 weeks or so. I have discussed this with a few in the class and they agree that it should be easier to understand and to take in more of the articles if we were forced to do parts of the homeexam earlier. This was a very stressful period. If you could diverse the first to cover specifics subject you could have the last on to answer the objectives in the course, such as why we are richer and relate more of the concepts. Think about the student syndrome, it is real…, »
- I really liked the course, and the lectures. I only think that maybe less lectures will be easier to approach. Tnks »
- there is no much warm up for international students. it was difficult to make the switch from field work practioner to master student, and the course has been stressful and fast to digest the content. »
- Answers submitted by Toomas Suurküla 2 bonuspoints please»
- Put in a litterature seminar or quiz half way into the course to force us to read. »

- This course may be in the second quarter, because if you start slow regardless of the reason, there is much lost.»
- Question nº8 is mandatory. However, I did not attend the lectures, so I marked it as OK to avoid too much bias on the answers»
