- I had some problems with 2 team members: one disappeared and the other didn"t take any kind of initiative, never tried to be part of the group, never tried to really help us in the project. » (Rather well)
- Exchange students seem to like to work alone and not used to work in group as swedish students which can be quite difficult sometimes. They tend to go home and fix everything at home instead of discussing it in group.» (Rather well)

- The project helps a lot of understanding the communication system.» (Good)
- I had studied Most of the things which was presented in this course but I get a practical view of those things through project» (Good)
- I like project in this course. It is very useful for teamwork cooperation. It is more practical for subject learning.» (Excellent)
- A very good introductory course, well managed.» (Excellent)

19. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- The project helped understandning a lot.»
- project for teamwork»
- the project, it is a great fun»
- Johnny and alex! Great guys»
- our lecture"s book..»
- The project.»
- Project should be preserved. Web site is very nice and teacher is wonderful. Lectures are also is the most important part of course.»
- Fair relationship towards students. Informal way of teaching, more accessible to students»
- Project, exercise tutorial»
- The concept and the aim of the course.»
- Give us more example about each modulation or what is the application of each one.»
- Having a project. »
- the project since it"s very helpful for understanding the course goal.»
- The structure of the lectures, with prepared slides and further explanations using the blackboard and transparencies. A very good approach!»
- project»
- Do not put large amount of course in a single quarter. And Lectures should be more detailed and well discussed in the class.»
- consultation hours, and the humble excellent teaching style.»
- Project and Exercise sessions. While team grouping, clubbing people from different cultures»
- Alex teaches in a very friendly environment which encourages students to ask questions during lectures and hence learning. Although he was unable to answer in class some times but he did not miss any question and provided its answer in next lecture. So, I guess that Alex Alvrado should be the teacher for next time as well.»
- excercises, still it is the best way to understand "dry" formulas. Young course staff.»
- Challenging projects, Exercise sessions, lecture slides, handouts, Ericsson workshop.»
- Working in an international Team, working in a "real-world" project!»
- I haven"t taken the course»
- The project.»
- Slides and transparencies, interaction with the teacher.»
- LOTFOLLAH»
- Project, exercise sessions»
- keep the project»
- Project should be kept as a mandatory part and could get a little more challenging.»
- course project»
- everything»

20. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- the number of students in a group should be fewer, preferably two or three»
- maybe try to group the student by nationality, it will work more efficiently»
- Johnny should take a breath ore two inbetween the solving of problems so that everyone can finish writing. Other than this, he is probably one of the best TA"s I have ever had in Chalmers (after three yrs here). »
- teaching slowly..»
- The course book, it was very hard to read and understand, atleast for someone with out previus knowledge.»
- I think since most of students participate in both exercise sessions I think solving different problems by different TA"s will be more efficient. apparently students should join both exercise sessions. In project, giving the final files which should be tested can be very useful to find the weak points of our project. this file can be with the same specification of final file but with other messages. for lectures I think it is better in first session the teacher shows the road map of course which means what student will learn in this course and in how many steps. besides, what they learn in each steps should be clear in this road map. sometimes the symbols which book has used are different from lectures, I think during the lectures these differences should be mentioned.»
- Less transparencies,or at least put them at the end or at the beginning of the lecture.»
- Randomly grouping by teachers. In this case, maybe some people works the most time, while the others contribute little.»
- Maybe the project can be a little bit more complex, like qpsk as the default and 8-psk for bonus.»
- Random groups for the project could be a problem. I just can give you an example: i worked really hard on the project, many hours to do what my team mates didn"t do, and in the end i get a good grade. In other groups, where all the members worked together for the project, the single-member workload was very lower than mine and in the end they also take a grade better than mine. NOT FAIR! It"s not my fault if you gave me team members without any kind of will to do a good job in the project. You are stuck in the situation.»
- Let all of transcription as the hoandout, it well more easily to study.»
- The book»
- ---»
- coures book»
- The Course data.»
- 1) Text book is not so good. The topics are very good in the sense that they give an overview of the problems in communication but this book didn"t give me adequate information needed. 2) Team Grouping: Definitely, clubbing people from different cultures is very good but because students come from different background, some people are not very confident that they can work with us. Particularly in my team, there were two exchange students who said that they don"t know the basics, even when we said that we"ll help them , they didn"t turn up to most of the times. We"ve reported this matter to TA"s but in vain (they have been working for solution).»
- Lotfollah had a clear vision about what he is going to teach during lab sessions and students were encouraged to ask questions but Johnny Karout although teaches good in class but stuents have less oppurtunities to ask questions. So, he should encourage students for asking questions.»
- During the lecture, there should be more practical examples, e.g. how to use this formula and so on»
- Nothing»
- Please make the lectures and exercise sessions more interactive. I mean, Keep telling more real time examples, ask students to search for latest updates in the market and compare the lectures with current technologies and make them imagine how the future...! :)»
- Testing the with hardware in the labs.... the admission is only in the evening, maybe also a possibility to work in the morning.»
- I haven"t taken the course»
- More examples in the Lectures session»
- Lectures could improve a bit (adding more examples) and the experience workshop should be a real workshop and not a 2hr lecture.»
- How the projects are formed? At least there should be one competent student in every project group who can help the group along the way. And also students from different programs can have difficulty adjusting their time schedule. Also separate transparencies used in lecture could become a part of lecture slides then it would be good.»
- course material can be extended»
- nothing»

21. Additional comments

- Thanks very much to the lecturer and TAs, you"ve done excellent job»
- the course book is not so easy to understand, and the course lasted too short»
- The course staff was very fair and correct. »
- Thanks for the lecture.»
- just an advice. Lotfollahs and Johnnys exercise sessions are extremely different and seem to cater to different audience (Lotfollah for beginners and Johnny for people that know more before the course. He has less explanations of why things are like they are) if you want to keep it like that be more clear about that in the beginning so people can pick the one they prefer :)»
- ---»
- The course was good and it help me alot to learn basic communications things»
- Perhaps a clearer statement of the goals at the beginning of the period would be very beneficial.»
- Alexander and Lotfollah are great. Johnny seem to have a hard time taking criticism and need to practice on pedagogy.»
- On the whole, I enjoyed this course. The project gave me an opportunity to see the some of the problems in the communication channel and also how to overcome that.»
- I do appreciate Alex"s and TA´,s contribution »
- I like Alex, he is a fine instructor»
- In the whole, everything is good. Thanks a lot for your help and guidance. »
- I haven"t taken the course»
