- Det har varit en väldigt stor andel föreläsningar och övningar vilket har resulterat i att andelen självstudier har varit på ett minimum. Jag har väldigt svårt att se den positiva effekten av att sitta på föreläsningar/övningar 8 timmar per dag vilket hänt ett flertal gånger. - I don"t know, but after the group work came out, I was in Chalmers at least 11hours a day for one week and it kept on - not as hard as this, but the group work was a lot! Then there was the learning for the exam and of course the time in class. I am not so good in estimating. - The goals are in fact reasonable, if you look at the knowledge are expected to "assimilate" but some things take to much time. The repport that were written was way to large since it didn´,t give any credits.» (Yes, the goals seem reasonable)

- Too much questions about "details". When I studdied for the exam I found that a lot of information was really difficult to find. Like the stereonet was not explained satisfactory in the slides and compendium. This was true for the "triangle" as well - so it was really hard for me who missed the very first lecture and no one I asked seemed to be able to explain it to me.» (To some extent)

- Kursprojektet är bra, väldigt omfattande och täcker de områden som kursen handlar. Tycker dock att tentan inte återspeglar kursprojektet på så många områden. I och med att kursprojektet står för en väldigt stor andel av den tid som läggs på kursen (har inte pluggat på egen han nästan någonting) så tycker jag att tentan borde återspegla kursprojektet mer. Eftersom kursprojektet tar så mycket tid så tycker jag också att man antingen tilldelas betyg och poäng för genomfört arbete. Eftersom man endast blir godkänd på kursprojektet så känns det som att man med tentan examinerar examinationen. Eftersom man endast blir godkänd på projektet så tycker jag assistenterna är väldigt petiga med småsaker i rapporterna, tex omskrivningar av meningar etc. » (Great extent)

- Alldeles för många föreläsningar för att det ska vara rimligt att man ska kunna lära sig allt. Borde kunna halvera antalet för att det ska bli rimligt. Att man har 6-8 timmar per dag är inte bra. Det kan inte anses som troligt att man ska orka lyssna så länge på samma dag. Lägg ut vissa avsnitt på självstudier istället. - When the teacher insults you instead of help you, the answer cannot be anything but very poor. » (Very poor)

- Some where often very late and did not contribute enough to the course project. » (Very poorly)
- The groups were too large and to uneven. It was a big difference in the level of knowledge, which made it even harder.» (Rather poorly)

- Very disappointed with the course. Had a lot of expectations for it before the start of this semester. This since the course in the first was very interesting. » (Poor)

15. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Smaller groups in the project, eight persons in one group are to much. Maximum 4 persons to have good study climate were everyone can contribute. »
- Föreläsnngar och övningar borde vara uppblandat mer. Mindre antal lektioner så tid till projektet och självstudier finns.»
- The course project ought to get either some points of the total 7,5 or get a grade. We have spent so many hours on that but we don"t get something for it.»
- the eximanation: the eximanation should be about important thigs in the course and not small things.»
- The course is huge for such less time....Maybe dividing it in two parts will help the student to learn more..»
- The amount of lectures needs to be decreased. You should get credit for the project somehow. All material must be translated into English. The groups need to be more even.»

- The hours put on the course, is too much, or because the way it is formed different people do not put the same much time on it. Maybe give some points for the group work, like it is done in other courses, for example 2-3 points (hp). The supervisors must say the same things, not different all the time. Things need to be decided before, not during the course, like if the hydraulic part had to be in the project... Is a bit late to find out that when it is already done, when we hade been told that it was missing in the report...»
- The heat production from the ground. Even if it´,s an intersesting subject itself, it´,s hard to see any connection to tunnel constructions.»
- the Phd who had the unwedge and stereonet excersise, he was so rude and arrogant, he is the worst about the course, he made me feel bad at the excersise and not only me»

16. Additional comments

- Innehållet i kursen är bra, lite rörigt med så många olika föreläsare. Alldeles för mycket att göra för en 7,5 poängskurs om man jämför med kurser man haft innan eller men hur mycket studenter från andra masterprogram haft att göra.»
- I think there were too many lectures. I don"t manage to just listen for 8 hours. I think I should have learned more if there were less lectures, then I should remember much more. And as it was now I never had time or energy to study on my own after all the long days just listening. There are also an other coure that take my time.»
- Handledaren Johan gav tyvär inte mycket stöd i början av kursen. Han gav inget stöd och kändes som han endast upptäckte negativa saker. En handledera ska pusha och hjälpa.»
- Very sad that the email from 30 students in the class was not more seriously listened to.»
- Consideration must be taken to the other course that is held during the same period.»
- Me and my cllasmates fell that we deserv to get some grade for the project because it really take our most of the time drin quarter. assume that we were in the course cllasse from 8 to 5 ( nearlly every day) and after 5 we shoud mett our group members for discusing and doing the project and so on. so we came back home at 8 or 9 at nights and don"t have time not only to study but also for nothing else and it"s not fair to give no score for such a work.»
- First I would like to mention that the lectures, the literatures and the project that were given in the engineering geology course were of great deal in fully addressing the course’,s goal to the students. But Sweden is not a home country for any international masters’, student, so too much work load from the course is a big challenge that a new student will face other than the challenges that arise from the new living environment. The exam and the grading system should consider the above mentioned facts. »
- Would be nice if the teachers could listen at this... When students who have read this course before, say that it"s the hardest one in the whole master programme. And when students come and tell that it’,s too much, listen to them. And that letter which were sent to the responsible of the course, when it stands “,we”, in the hole letter, then it is from all of us, all the names that were standing there. One person had to send it, instead of sending 30 mails? Do not think it was so nice for that girl to get that answer she (or we) got.»
- I think that the idea to exchange knowledge from different schools is great and that should definatly be kept.»
- I really think this was the most intresting course so far, with good lectures and studyvisits(not SP thou) and good guidance. Still a bit to much work, since the other course had the same layout. If that course just had an exam, or the opposite, then everything would have been fine. »
