2. The number of lecturers

The course used a large number of external experts as lecturers. How did you like this compared to the more typical course with one or a few acamic teachers?

- All the lecturers were extremely pertinent, having a few expert"s opinion on their domain of expertise is priceless.» (I like this better)

Goals and goal fulfilment

The course syllabus states the course goals in terms of learning outcomes, i.e., knowledge, skills and attitudes to be acquired by the student during the course.

- List the most important sensor principles under consideration for automotive safety applications and to explain their technological advantages and limitations.
- Explain the special challenges that are encountered in information processing in vehicle safety system applications.
- Explain the most common systems for vehicle control assistance and intervention and to analyse their potential and possible limitations.
- Explain different system principles for information based interaction and communication with the vehicle surrounding.
- Describe the most important principles for driver information display and to explain the challenges in designing systems that are adapted to the human cognitive capacity and human behaviour and response.
- Explain the potential for improved crash safety and post collision emergency care with the use of new technologies.
- Compare, evaluate and prioritise between different active safety systems.

- For this course I think the home evaluation is more appropriate. With the project and the home evaluation every student has done an important amount of research and thinking about it, two things that take a lot of time and are way better done when the student takes his time to do it when he"s in a mood for it than during a stressful four-hour exam without any access to research papers and books.» (I liked the home exam better)
- In my opinion, a home examination allows being more organized and structured than a 4 hour written examination. It was therefore possible to have a sufficient time to think about each question and then write a more "pertinent" answer.» (I liked the home exam better)
- because it was so much bigger than 4hour exam it took a lot days to write and many questions are too open or tricky to be able to give reasonable answer» (The two examination types are equal)
- With this home exam it is hard to understand what the teacher wants as the quastians are formulated is general manner. So when you try to be exact you get low grades because teacher wanted more. On the other hand writing an essay for each question contradicts with our education. We are supposed to be engineeres and not writers.» (I prefer a 4-hour written examination)

- The oppinion was really spoiled with the exam mark. I would prefer to answer questions that has exact answer and don"t need general discussions in the answer. » (Adequate)

- The project. Working with 5 others students has been really nice and I learned a lot. I think this project "formula" is adequate for this course.»

19. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- maybe subjects of project»
- If it is possible, finding a "good" book covering most of the given lectures. »
- Nothing, but industrial experts should give more details about their area of interest. "Quality" is more important than "quantity".»
- Examination type should be reconsidered. Probably individual speaking with teacher can be used or universal 4hour writing exam.»
