- The lectures were too theoretical, too many equations of which it is not clear how to implement/use them, which should be the goal of the course. Maybe it would be good if in the lectures some practical examples would be treated, this would also help for the projects.» (Some extent)

- The exercise class, which Jim was responsible for, were very crowded and the opportunity to ask question was not sufficient. There were a long queue every time for asking question, and sometimes we could not ask even one question. » (Rather poor)

- Students of mechanical engineering were somehow familiar with numerical method since they had a course about them, but for civil engineering students lectures on numerical methods were too fast. » (High)

- Very little time to finish the assignment. I had to rush it and didn"t remember anything afterwards.» (Some extent)
- Hamid is a mess, It feels like it is too little time with just 2 hours in the computer room. One good thing would be to make an assignment in ABAQUS so that we get a chance to learn it.» (Some extent)

- Too hard to reach good grade. If I don"t get every point on the projects i have to take 100% on the exam. » (Adequate)
- I feel that there was a lot of repetitions for us MPAME-students. I felt that the only new thing was buckling analysis.» (Adequate)

23. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- The name "Application"..Or have more application in the course, mabey CA3 made in ABAQUS»
- More help for the projects, both in the computer classes and with examples in the lectures.»
- I think that the Abaqus lab is useless. It would be mouch better to have the last CA in Abaqus and this one could be involved in some of the previous CA.»
- Maybe switch one of the CA"s to an assignment with questions closer to the written exam.»

- Lecturing: Instead of going through the formulas and to large extent rewriting the books on the blackboard it would be more beneficial to explain the underlying physics and explain how FEM works in words with parallells to real life.»
- As for me ,lectures were given a bit faster. I mean the lectures could have been given for 1.5 months instead of covering them in just 1 month.»
- The ABAQUS part. Make an ABAQUS assignment instead.»
- As this course is common between some master programs, many students attend the course. Therefore, sufficient number of assistants is needed.»
