- Just what was the reason for the recommended exercises in the book? They didn"t compare to the exam in any way. A total waste of time there.» (The goals are difficult to understand)
- The goals are very wide (as always), so they did not give much help. With very wide goals, you expect the exam questions to be wide (at least I did), so I got surprised when they were in detail. - It could be good to describe the Eulerian and the Lagrangian description in a more compatible way in the two texts describing it. (Larsson"s and Toll"s). As it was now, both descriptions were hard to understand and follow. It could have helped with better figures. The Schaum book wasn"t so good, so it was really nice to have separate lecture notes.» (Large extent)

- A lot of people had questions on the assignments and there were only two assistants. Therefore you almost had to stand in line to get attention.» (Rather poor)

- The course in whole were good, but I feel I didn"t really grasp the solids part. Mainly because they were so late in the course. This is in my oppinion a common problem. I suggest higher workload in the beginning of the course and more time in the later parts. Additionally the workload in the other course were very low until about week 5 which didnt really help. Can"t really blame you for that i guess...» (Good)

19. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- Pointless rewriting of equations. Almost all questions in the book didn"t have any goal whatsoever.»

- Clearer formulations on the assignments and on the exam. This year it was sometimes really hard to understand what was meant to be done.»
- More exercise lectures. Assignment 3 must be reformulated.»
- More exercise lecture to improve ability in hand calculations. Maybe oral presentation of the assignment at the terminal to get better feedback.»

- Is vector notation any good? We spend a lot of time on it, but in the next quarter, we do not use it any longer. If you give us huge assignments, and we put lots of time on them, we expect you to read them and give as feedback. The assignments can give extra points to the exam (then you also have to read them :) ). The exam must be better, or it should be more clear what we must learn for it. »
- Assignment two had to many similar questions. The questions in assignment three were sometimes hard to understand.»
- Maybe the asignments could be evaluated for the finaly grades (maybe 3 points for every good asignment) because the work is a lot.»

20. Additional comments

- I"m going to have to complain about the last few questions on the exam. In particular the one with the vorticity. Badly formulated question is a given (i mean, was it really that hard to ask "Rewrite this equation to the differential equation governing the vorticity." when that supposedly was meant? At least thats the last description i heard from Staffan when there was less then an hour left. But even knowing what the question really was it"s still to far fetched. We weren"t expected to have even know what it looked like, so we were expected to reinvent the science behind it all over again. Ridiculous»
