- The examples were good, would have preferred them in the exercise class. Nevertheless, they did help in understanding the concepts :D
In a lecture, I mostly look for the awe and wonder on how something happened.

- the problems of the final exam are not good, really» (No, not at all)
- Surpsingly, The examination wasn"t about source coding, it was about Mathematics, some difficult integrals that we didn"t practice since our bachelor degree. The examination doesn"t reveal how much I got from the course, as we had really worked hard for that course, and we were surprised by how difficult the exam was, as if the lecturer was taking revenge of us for some reason!!
Also the exam was so unbalanced, that approximately 50% of the exam was about the last 2 lectures that we didn"t understand, due to the inefficiency of the lecurer in explaining the topic, and the TA who didn"t solve any problem with us about this last topic !!! I really think the examination was so wierd, and that we had wasted our time in studing some course that we can"t be fairly evaluated at the end of it due to lack of experience of how to put a suitable exam !!

- I must say the exam was way harder than previous years exams. On some of the questions you didnt even understand how to start with the problems. Problem 3 was too much calculations(took a long time to do). Overall the exam was too hard and didnt really show what we have learnt during the course, I hope it will be improved for coming exams.» (To some extent)
- There are some questions which has a more than 1.5 half hour mathematical operations in one question.if the aim of course is testing calculus knowledge of students it is ok but if it is not the aim why the lecturers ask this question. I think Aim should be different.Moreover other questions are very difficult ,if you are comparing lectures,Exercises class and old exams. » (To some extent)

- the lecturer wasn"t that good, nor organized in explaining the material, the lectures were hard to follow and understand, and I always had to return to the book to understand what the lecturer was talking about. About the TA, that was a comlplete another story, I mean the guy really doesn"t know how to teach at all, he doesn"t even have the ability to deliver any simple information of use. Imagine that a TA spends 2 hours in an exercise without talking about 100 words in this duration, he is just writing the answers on the board, and he can"t even explain them, I really faced some hard time in tring to understand what this guy is trying to say for the whole quarter.» (Small extent)
- I would say it was rather an overview to a wide area of communication, and i think every subject in itself requires deep knowledge and understanding but i belive it has been left for the PHd degree because a quarter time was just enough to get introduced like we just got to know whats going on.» (Some extent)

That is, I think that textbook spares pages to explain mathematical background of each method, motivate of the method, but not explain problem solving and design/implementation aspects. Therefore, the book doesn"t helpful for project and Exam. It was not fun.» (Small extent)

- Although the book is very good, there is not much about Markov model in the book... esp the mathematical point of view. So I think the teacher or the TA should go into little more depth about Markov model and its mathematics ... an example perhaps. I lost two point in the mid quarter exam because I did not know exactly how to use Markov model though I knew it theoretically. » (Great extent)

- Not that good, but not bad, the only thing that the answres to exercises are not available on time, and not all of them, and this is kond of wierd, as all the other courses have model answers and solutions for all the problems. But what makes that more important in that course, that we don"t have many options of getting right answers and solutions except from the pdfs available at the web page.» (Rather well)

One person in our group left the group, she told us 30 minutes before the oral exam "I have to go, it is an emergency". I did not know what to think. But I don"t blame her, our group was the worst one possible. I wish I had the balls to do that myself...» (Rather poorly)

- Along with the other course from MPCOM, thats is wireless communication, work load was pretty much and the thing which bothered the most was the same deadline for submission of project i think the coordination should be done in order to take these project alternatively during the course period so that they can be managed well and i believe if there were some point for the projects many student would have participated more actively, including me.» (High)

- Because workload of project is too high, actually we need to focus on either MATLAB coding or reasonning. I"m not satisfied and a bit pity.
I would suggest either to prepare nicer course book that covers mathematics and design implementation to have fun with MATLAB coding etc.., or to make MATLAB coding workload relax by giving us more detail information, and let us research on comparing methods and so on.

- The projects were good. But, the evaluations for the projects were not perfect. I by myself did all parts of the project for purpose of learning, but my teammates didn"t and they also passed projects.»

Important note : The two projects are not of much help because they don"t have points on them, so no one cares much about them, they should have some points, at least 10 points each, so that the students can do their best in these projects. Also the TA has to care more about the oral exam ?!!!»
- Use the time of the exercise sessions better. When we were done with one exercise, it took minutes before starting with the next one. Most of the time you sit and wait for TA to move on.»

16. Additional comments- The first oral exam was complete garbage. I was asked a grand total of two questions, while my partner (two-person group) was asked somewhere around ten, and didn"t quite manage to answer most of them. In the end, we were both given a 5 on the first oral exam, almost completely based on one persons answers, that I wasn"t allowed to cut into.

- Most of work was done by the students rather than good guidance from the Teachers, they could not prepare according to goals.»

Or even better, the system takes my saved page after the deadline :D This will help in accumulating thoughts based on different moods than merely writing what I feel as of now.»

- They were no marks for the projects, which made the projects least informative. Learning from projects was not impressive due to lack of interest. Projects should have some marks. Projects had clashes with other courses. Teacher should be clear in delivering the lecture. Things which are not taught in the class or even in not given in the course book, should not be asked in exam. Otherwise, exam should not only be open book but it should also be take home exam.
Class slides should be informative and elaborative. It should not just the name of topic and thats it. »

- The exam was a surprise. I had one page of calculations for the first iteration of the ML-task. I don"t see one we need to iterate 3 times, it is doing the same thing 3 times (if I got it right).»
