- The most important thing to understand the course was Matlab projects. They were extremely helpful.» (Large extent)
- - There was only one source for that subject which was the Lectures and a compendium: - The lecture slides are full of math and simulation results and with no explanation of the graphs, and I don"t know why he did not give explanations of what he wants in a written form. The subject does not a reference book to follow and this makes it very hard as Stefan assumes that We are going to understand every thing from him, and that he is going to make things more easy, It made things even worse. The lecture slides are full of mistakes especially those of the 2nd week with a lot of confusing things. I feel very sorry for registering in that course, It has wasted my time and effort and I gained little, I shouldn"t have registered to a course with out an international book as a reference. - I expected that since there is no reference book that the Lecture slides are going to be very clear. - It takes a lot of time to understand one lecture and you have to go and ask. - He did not write any thing about the basic things needed in Control and in Simulink at the begining of the course and We have to depend on him for everything. - Stefan is very kind and is helpful but the subject is very hard and consuming, It could have saved a lot of time if everything is cleared in the lectures. - It would be a good idea if you write your own notes with explanation to everything needed in detail.» (Large extent)

- More tutorials where the teacher goes through the examples from the beginning on the black board.»

- Grade should not be based in only one examination. The effort done by students for the project should be part of the grading in some way.»

- here I have some comments to make concerning the project work A.concerning the assignments I believe the assignments will help us to have a lot of concepts about the subject but here I have some points which I think should be added to make them more helpful. 1.the flow of instructions sometimes are confusing specially for someone who doesn"t have a deeper understanding of the subject matter and for someone who doesn"t know what to study on a given simulation. This is usually happens to me when one question takes values or flow of ideas from the previous question. Not taking the correct flow sometimes will result in unnecessary analysis and waste of time. I think this kinds of confusions which wastes much time of students like me can easily be resolved by clearly specifying weather the question is a continuation of previous question or/and which values from the previous question should be utilized for the question at hand. 2. concerning the variables to be studied. I think it will be a great help for student which have no firm idea of the subject to be told which variables should he focus on? (e.g. current, flux,torque...) at what condition? (e.g. when starting, when step torque is applied). This, I say, because I"ve spent hours after I have the simulation running before I know what to study. but I know that you explain them in class. But I think some or at least in my part I can"t understand or head to everything in a class, I need sometime after class to digest it. B. concerning the approval:- I think it will be good if you can make the approval for everyone by yourself. even though Johan can make us have some concepts, but I am afraid to say it is not as much as we get from you. but if you think it is time taking,I think it will be good if you can upload some time what we should understand from each simulation. I am very happy if you can do them even after the exam.»
- I think that a project on Synchronous Generator should be added, since it is a very important equipment in the energy and electic power world.»
- - I think that depending on getting the information verbally from the professor only is a bad idea and does not work . - Every thing should be written and explained clearly because we have only 7 weeks. - If there is a good source or if Stefan writes his own notes with explanation, It should be written in a way that even if you missed a class and tried to read the notes, you can understand and then the lectures are for more help and better understanding and for making studying more easily. »
