- The schedule was marked preliminary during all course and was changed several times, only with oral announcement at the lectures. I think there should be a final version available at least one week before start of the course and that it then shouldn"t be changed at all. If it has to be changed (it should be an exception due to illness or similar) a mail should be sent out to all participants and the schedule on the web page should be updated. » (Rather well)


13. How do you judge the level of difficulty of the assignments?

- In general the assignments were good but there were a few parts that consumed a lot of time without contributing to the understanding of the acoustics, time that could have been better spent. For example the matlab calculation of assignment A, task 2a, was frustrating and needs to be simplified in some way to the next year. Also one could question the usefulness of putting quite a few extra hours on writing the report on a computer instead of handwriting. Especially equations takes a lot of time to type in MS Word or similar software, and it is a skill that you very seldom use at a work (unless you continue with doctoral studies). I mean that you can learn how to write reports everywhere and that the hours of the course instead should be focused on understanding acoustics. » (a bit too difficult)

- It would have been better to have a bit harder exercises with longer time for working with them, and to get each exercise corrected before the next should be handed in. The delays in the assignment dates were a bit annoying.» (adequate.)

- There are exelent oportunities to ask,the problem is that i dont ask as much as i should and i have seen the same problem with other people in the class, my suggestion is to have a FAQ database, might be possible to have it on the webpage, refering to each lecture, it might work similar as a blog where students can formulate specific questions and maybe create a debate on certain topics. Im not sure about how possitive this might be because then less questions will be done during lectures.» (Very good)

- more exercise lectures, more time for the course, this course should be presented in on semester whole not in one quarter.»

24. Additional comments

- Due to the lack of questions from the students, i would like to have a questionary maybe from each main topic with open questions similar as those formulated during a lecture (where everybody turns to look each other and everywhere and wait until the profesor answer),that make the students to think and describe with simply words about different possibilities, configurataion, systems,to me is easier to start thinking from a question than only reading the lectures notes with the theory, i think this kind of questions help a lot to imagine and create a better picture of the problem and then be able to describe it with my own words, then the mathematical numerical procedures will be reach with a better understanding, im not refering to questions like in the problems during the exercises that require numerical analysis. I hope the intension of this suggestion is clear,if not just contact me to talk about it, thanks.»
