- Before you see this goal, you have to accept lots of new concepts and notations. It is really a smart way to express 3D or even higher space in a extremely compact way, which spent me so much energy to get in these domains. The curve fitting function is amazing, and the thinking of the plasticity is different. I learned plasticity in a fresh, modelling perspective. - I talked with my coordinate in Advanced Engineering Materials about this course a lot. She said that this course is given by Applied Mechanics division together with Materials division, but the connection is lost due you changed a coordinator. I guess it could be good to cooperate again since material mechanics has a "material" with mechanics.» (Yes, the goals seem reasonable)

- Ragnar goes from very clear to very unclear in his teaching, but he is always helpful.» (Some extent)
- Ragnar has to work on his spoken english. It"s really hard to follow the lectures. Sometimes he uses swedish words to fill in the blanks were he doesnt know the word. Thats unacceptable for the foreign country students.» (Some extent)

21. What should definitely be changed to next year?- I think it has been hard to get a grip of why we have done some of the calculations, what we want to achieve with it. »
- Introduce some extra lectures in Swedish every week: That would have helped me a lot to understand the course material. I think Ragnar is a much better teacher when he speaks Swedish as well. »
- Couple more to reality. What is it we model? Put the equations into context. Clearify what is model concepts and what is physical.»

22. Additional comments- It sounded interesting at first and I thought I would learn about materials cooperating in mechanics. This I haven"t learned at all. I have learnt some equations, but I don"t know when to use them. The exercises you didn"t need to have any understanding about the facts to complete. They just took a lot of time. I would have liked shorter, but more informative exercises. I also would have liked some organization of the teaching. I think this could be a really interesting course working a bit on what the students wants to learn. I would have liked to, as I mentioned, use the fact that there is different materials in my mechanic-calculations. That is a piece i"m missing in my education. The book is a mess. Some examples of when you can use it, more pictures, and smaller text. And, finally, as I said, I"m pretty sure that this can be a really appreciated course, if you just find out what the students want to learn.»
- By the way, one need finite element method knowledge to study this course well. Fortunately, I was take that at the same time.»
- The lab-assistants should be a little more prepared to be able to suggest solutions to problems in the labs.»
