- Well i think that the classes gave very little to the understanding of the course. The lecture notes not very good. The way they described and solved the problem was not very good. » (100%)

- Before you see this goal, you have to accept lots of new concepts and notations. It is really a smart way to express 3D or even higher space in a extremely compact way, which spent me so much energy to get in these domains. The process is torture, but I gain a lot afterwards.» (The goal has been fullfilled)

- This part is quite important even in material science. The curve fitting function is amazing, and the thinking of the plasticity is different. I learned plasticity in a fresh, modelling perspective. But, If more material or physical interpretation would be provided, the course will be perfect. » (This goal has been fulfilled)

- The goals of the course are good. The problem is that the teacher have problem teaching the student anything. He is a cool guy if you talk to him after the lecture but he is not very pedagogical. » (Yes, the goals seem reasonable)
- I talked with my coordinate in Advanced Engineering Materials about this course a lot. She said that this course is given by Applied Mechanics division together with Materials division, but the connection is lost due you changed a coordinator. I guess it could be good to cooperate again since material mechanics has a "material" with mechanics.» (Yes, the goals seem reasonable)

- On the exam there was a few "additional questions". When the teachen went through some of the in class he brought upp some thing i havent heard before and i dont thing that is okej.» (To some extent)
- don"t like the idea with konowing the questions before the exam, it"s better to formulate the goal more specific so that one know what to learn. » (To some extent)

- Runesson är och förblir kung, man fattade när han snackade om saker på duggaförhöret» (some extent)
- Just call it oral examination or examinating discussion or something. Skip the word dugga. Dugga for me is midterm exam.» (some extent)

- The assignment was very bad. i dont thing you learn anything by converting mathematica code to matlab. And if you would figure it out by youself you needed mutch more knowledge than you got from the lectures. » (Small extent)
- It was hard to understand what to do. You just did as it stood in the hand out and tried to figure out which equations that were missing. » (Some extent)
- The pseudo code might be a little much help. There"s a risk that people just copy the code and doesnt understand what it does.» (Large extent)
- didn"t like the way with the pseudocode, i think one learns more when doing it by yourself but maybe it"s not possile with the short times avalliable» (Large extent)
- Thank you for your help, we once got stuck on assignment one, which made us a little bit nervous. If I am right, the assignment not only help people improved their programming but also urged us to discuss what is important as well as practical in this course.» (Great extent)

- Ragnar goes from very clear to very unclear in his teaching, but he is always helpful.» (Some extent)
- Ragnar has to work on his spoken english. It"s really hard to follow the lectures. Sometimes he uses swedish words to fill in the blanks were he doesnt know the word. Thats unacceptable for the foreign country students.» (Some extent)

- i had high expectaions on this course, but they were not fullfilled.i missed the link to the material behaviour and the micro structure. i would have liked to have more examples with materials behaving in different ways.. » (Fair)

21. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- I think it has been hard to get a grip of why we have done some of the calculations, what we want to achieve with it. »
- Introduce some extra lectures in Swedish every week: That would have helped me a lot to understand the course material. I think Ragnar is a much better teacher when he speaks Swedish as well. »
- Couple more to reality. What is it we model? Put the equations into context. Clearify what is model concepts and what is physical.»

22. Additional comments

- It sounded interesting at first and I thought I would learn about materials cooperating in mechanics. This I haven"t learned at all. I have learnt some equations, but I don"t know when to use them. The exercises you didn"t need to have any understanding about the facts to complete. They just took a lot of time. I would have liked shorter, but more informative exercises. I also would have liked some organization of the teaching. I think this could be a really interesting course working a bit on what the students wants to learn. I would have liked to, as I mentioned, use the fact that there is different materials in my mechanic-calculations. That is a piece i"m missing in my education. The book is a mess. Some examples of when you can use it, more pictures, and smaller text. And, finally, as I said, I"m pretty sure that this can be a really appreciated course, if you just find out what the students want to learn.»
- By the way, one need finite element method knowledge to study this course well. Fortunately, I was take that at the same time.»
- The lab-assistants should be a little more prepared to be able to suggest solutions to problems in the labs.»
- unfortunatly the course wasn"t as interesting as the field of material mechanics..»
