Espcially since the participants in the course had such a broad bacckground, both concerning natinality and study program. They could be taken away!» - Maybe we could see more of the social aspect of sustainable development : we had only one lecture about intergenerational justice and it was mainly economic stuff.» - The hand-in where all the answers were given can be removed, or don"t hand out the answers since it still took a long time to copy the answers when we found out what was wrong.» - Some of the lectures were unclear about relevance, and some were more relevant but not really told about. Debating among class members usually made it more valuable, and also, when the seminar supervisor summarized the points to be taken away from the seminar. Also, consider compiling and providing a list of useful web links to sites which can be used to dig further into various topics, and as well, a list of books that might be recommended (not for adding to what would be contained on the exam)for further knowledge in the subject. It would even be useful to know what is going on at other major universities with respect to focus on sustainable development.» - The seminars could be improved, the third one with Ulrika was the one that I learned most from» - The Compendium...Too big, photocopies of photocopies of articles for some of them.» - a clear description of what you expect from us (in general) for example why we don"t get the answers of previous exams.» - The amount of reading» - too much to read! Some texts were full of info (The report from the FAO), while some other were rather poor. Otherwise, maybe the most important texts should be pointed out. The big classes in this course are sust. energy systems and industrial ecology. both of these programs now take sust. energy futures, where much of the material is discussed again. discount rate was an odd bird in sust. dev., but is now taught more thoroughly. The WWF-guest lecture was quite boring and uninteresting» - It would be useful if the seminars were more challenging and demanded that students debate more by putting individuals on different sides. Since there are many that still struggle with english it was often dissapointing of the participation of the seminars.» - More information about LCA.» - Relate to the compendium more during the course.» - Nothing in particular» - In the seminars less time should be spent on the tasks that all students should have prepered and more time on discussion.» - Less to read in the compendium and additional lectures?» - Not so much time on calculating, better to discuss.» 16. Additional comments- I guess the slides are the basic material for the examination, so they are important. I felt that some of the slides were highly optimized for a presentation but as a result of that not very suitable for learning with them for an exam. I often missed structure in the slides and also especially in the compendium. The texts in there might be interesting but i would have wished a guidance through them and not only getting a bunch of paper, not knowing what to do with it. The booklet "man and material flow" on the other had has a very good structure and was easy to understand, even it might need some updates, as it is from the last century. All in all, I have a mixed feeling about this course, as it presented very interesting topics and each of them in a good way, but i feel confused about the relation between them and it is hard to summarize what I learned, as I can only see fragments, and not an overall picture.»- I am not in the School programm I have chosen : I am an erasmus student.» - Much of the information provided in the lectures was something that I already knew or did not seem relevant for my master program.» - Maybe the documents and participation on the seminars could give extra points for the final exam.
