Large extent»10 26%
Great extent»3 7%

Genomsnitt: 2.23

- I think many lectures were just a mess, hard to follow the teachers.» (Small extent)
- I didn"t find the teaching helpful. I had difficulties to understand the teachers and the organization seemed quite messy. For example maybe teachers should hold lectures within their specialties? I didn"t really see the reason why Ingemar Segerholm had to talk about the, for me, most difficult part of concrete. I had difficulties to understand creep and shrinkage and maybe it would have been helpful with a good lecture on it.» (Small extent)
- It was mostly the three final days of studying time before the examination that gave me the knowledge. » (Small extent)
» (Small extent)

- Some guest lectures were good but some felt out of subject, and very little of the content were actually in the examination.» (Small extent)
- They where maby not so very much usefull for the examination but they where interesting» (Some extent)
- I think the guest lectures have been really good. But put to some extent, because again it was not perfectly organized. Maybe they should come when we actually talk about that matter? Once, after the lecturer, we were told that we will understand this lecture in 2 weeks. Why not have it in two weeks then.» (Some extent)

14. To what extent has the laboratory work been of help for your learing?

Small extent»3 8%
Some extent»18 48%
Large extent»11 29%

Genomsnitt: 2.48

- I don"t really know what I have learnt from the laboratory. To make a concrete mix design was already done in the basic course. Mixing it was like baking a cake. I already knew how to test the strenght and the workability, we did that at "Färdig betong" in the basic course. It was good to see some ways of testing concrete in-situ though.» (Small extent)
- Good way to learn, but use fill-in form reports instead, because of the lack of time.» (Some extent)
- We did not get that help we needed in one laboration. This because the teacher, Ingemar, did not have enough knowledge about the laboration or the materials we used. The laboration was the CTH test.» (Some extent)
(Some extent)
- Good to see the phenomenas in reality» (Great extent)
- The laboratory work has been very good and helpful! All teachers has been very available and good at explaining. It was great to be able to make concrete and then test it. I also found the last laboratory very interesting.» (Great extent)

Large extent»10 26%
Great extent»3 7%

Genomsnitt: 2.13

- As i didn"t follow the Structural Systems course, the project work was frustrating as i wasn"t completely involved with group decisions. Why do the two need to be so joined? Or perhaps all students only doing the one course could be in the same group» (Small extent)
- Because that the details of what we were supposed to hand in were described so late, we had to split the group into 2, half the group worked with material performance project, and the other half worked with the other course. Because of this, half of the group never got to work with the project. It is therefore crusial that the tasks will be given in the start of the course next year.» (Small extent)
- Well, because Tang uploaded the guidlines for the project work less than a week before the project should be handed in and gave us the date for the deadline (which were on mondag) on friday, the entire project work was a mess that was composed in a hurry. I can"t say that I learnt much from it.» (Small extent)
- We only had a weekend to do it, and had only learned about concrete so even if it was good maybe it could just be involved in the structural systems project.» (Small extent)
- Presented for first time friday at 16.30 the week before hand-in, not much time to work with it. » (Small extent)
- Should have been introduced ealier, now it was to late to do a good work in examining the problems» (Some extent)
- Because of bad information and a lack of time for the project work, this was most a parantese in the other work in this course.» (Some extent)
(Some extent)

- Both lots of slides and a book, hard to have time to go thrugh everything. The study questions was good. Easier to know whats important then.» (Some extent)
(Some extent)
- Slides on web page very helpful, should have been more textbook references though as the one chosen was somewhat irritating in the nature of its examples.» (Large extent)

- For me as a swedish student I have to say that I feel ashamed to start the master program with this course. I know that the courses at chalmers uses to be much better than this one, but for the foreign students it must feel like a big disapointment that they have traveled around the world for this! If the course can"t be improved significantly I think it should be replaced by another one, or at least it should"t be compulsary.» (Poor)
(Poor)
- Too much of everything. Doesn"t seem to have a clear goal.» (Fair)
- I think the course has got a good potential. The teachers have great knowledge and are all nice and helpful. But it need to be more organized. So I would like to put "Poor" here, but since the laboratory exercises has been good the grade is going up one level.» (Fair)
- Much repetition from previuos courses, and lots of new things preseneted in a quite unorganized way.» (Fair)
- Big focus on concrete in general, not so much about designing connections and details in a good way..» (Adequate)
- Could be more about steel, less of chlorides in concrete» (Good)

24. What is the remaining value of the course in the future

- dont understand the question u asked» (?)
- to much repetition from earlier courses...» (Rather small)
- Don"t understand the question...» (Rather small)
- I have big problem with the language, both in speaking and understanding, and so have some of the lecturers.. not a good combination» (Rahter high)
- Important field to study as it effects everything beeing built» (Very high)

25. What should definitely be preserved to next year?

- the 2 test»
- The study trip, the guest lectures.»
- trip to sawmill»
- The duggas»
- the laborations»
- lab and study trips»
- The labbs where very nice and the guest lectures. However, the reports on the labs didn"t help so much except for the last one.»
- Laboratory exercises.»
- the project work»
- Duggas, pre-reading questions»
- All the course content is good and useful, the laboratory and exercises also help a lot»
- The laborations and the study trips.»
- The course book»
- The duggas and study trips.»
- study trips, labs, final project.»
- Duggas with multiple choice question The lectures about wood were very interesting»
- Studieresorna»

26. What should definitely be changed to next year?

- it was a lot of labs and study trips, mayby you should have just 2 of each»
- The competiton. I understand that you want to have us competing, but the jury cant get an idea of how much work the group has spent on the project when they havent read the report. I suggest that the other groups also can vote for another group and their result along with the jurys result will decide who wins.»
- Nature of project for those not following SS. Metals lectures»
- Assignments and project work. To little information and to short time to work on them»
- read comments above»
- the project work. it was presented on friday and should be presented next monday. Why such a short notice?!»
- Keep the project work and skip the assignments and put it entirely into the project instead. Reduce the number of laboratories and study trips. Don"t base the course content on what the lecturers have been doing research in themself (chlorides). There is too much repetition of old content which really makes the students lose interest in the course. There are really too many things that you have to do in this course: 2 duggas + 3 labs(with lab reports) + 2 assignment + 1 project + 3 study trips + 1 final exam = 12 things »
- Lower the workload until next year. And try to get it more strukturated.»
- Organization.»
- Less mandatory assignments and moments. Clearer instructions on what should be done and when it should be done.»
- The planning of the course»
- The course material.I did not open the book after week two. The information have to be better.»
- less time spent on concrete, not very much time devoted to other materials.»
- Make it less similar to the course "Byggnadsmaterial"»
- nothing»
- I would be good to have access to multiple choice questions about each chapter in order to evaluate ourself easily. The correction of the duggas were very usefull. Old-exams to practice on.»

27. Additional comments

- If a try to remind me of what I have really learnt during the course it would be: 1. chlorides, 2. Something about CRM, 3. Some more about detorioration of concrete and how fatigue occurs. The rest is more or less only repitition.»
- exams must be finished and learning must be made through presentations, project work, assignments, home exercises»
- no»
